I mean, otherwise, we'd have to take a look at what we're doing and reassess our own positions, especially regarding climate change.  But that's too hard, so let's find a group to blame that we already dislike!

So true. We have a neighbor who had a habit of vandalizing our property. Didn't see proof, but when I put up CCTV cameras, the vandalism stopped. Whenever something happens now, my wife still blames the neighbor gal. She does still go around the neighborhood smack-talking about us. Sick. Most people see it for what it is, though.

I always had an impression that Florida would slowly submerge into the rising sea level as residents idly paddled off in their canoes to higher ground. OK, the first part of that description was honest anticipation. The canoe part was just added to imply an orderly withdrawal. But I'm thinking now that Florida will be destroyed and unlivable long before it goes under water.

Another thing I did anticipate, which few people even talk about or possibly don't even believe is the economic devastation of the global economy the likes of which will make the great depression seem like picnic.

It's wild seeing Republicans lie about something that I actually know about very well.  A lot of the time, I have to do about a 15-second google search to disprove what they're saying.  This stuff is like saying that lions prowl downtown Durham and sabertooth tigers hunt gazelle along the Outer Banks.  Immediately flagged as lying.

And as always, the baloney detection kit is always on the lookout for two things in combination:
1) Bold claims held with extreme certainty
2) Not supported at all with facts

Not powerful enough to influence the climate, but powerful enough to conjure hurricanes out of nowhere and steer them with pinpoint accuracy.

Kinda like the lazy immigrants who take over 100% of the jobs and the limp-wristed liberals who simultaneously can't handle the wrong pronouns but can handle rounding up all the conservatives and putting them in death camps lol.
