Walz just killed it on the 'democrats are going to steal your guns' issue.  Wow.

JD Vance seems to be repeatedly nodding his head in agreement with Tim Walz' comments. I think anyone watching this will notice. Weird but very enjoyable to see.

Walz killed it. Repeatedly pointed out areas of agreement which left Vance nodding his head.  I think he absolutely nailed the middle ground.

Yeah I agree, I think Walz "won" the debate, but then, I'm kinda biased.

I caught the later half of the debate. I thought it went pretty well. Just wish Waltz had pushed harder against Trump's "peaceful transer of power." When Biden was sworn in, Trump was notably absent, and that was after he tried every option he had to overturn the election.

Vance was quite smooth at not answering questions.

I do think Waltz is right about Vance. When Trump asked Pence to refuse to sign in Biden, to his credit, Pence did not cave. He put the system over Trump, and because of that, he lost Trump's favor. Unlike Pence, Vance will whatever Trump tells him to do.

To this day, Trump still claims that the election was stolen from him. He's even pre-emptively declared that if he loses this election, it is because it is rigged. To pretend that Trump respects the system and the will of the people is blantantly absurd.

Or as I like to succinctly put it... three years later and Trump is still trying to steal my vote.

Trump did say that he lost the 2020 election "by a whisker."

Vance did a good job on stage presence. He's one of the best debaters I've seen. He avoided direct answers, which is what politicians do. But he excelled at the things most people watch in a presidential debate. The big winner was Donald Trump.

Very little fact checking was done by either of the candidates. Oddly, I only noticed one fact check done by a moderator who were originally supposed to leave all fact checking to the debaters.
