Jesus could turn out to be real, return to earth and beg people not to follow this false idol, and his followers still wouldn't abandon him.

In general, he is an apocalyptic doomsdayer, threatening skeptics with eternal torture. He certainly didn't invent Confucius's golden rule and seen to have trouble following it himself. He didn't understand germ theory, telling his followers not to bother washing their hands before eating and would prefer to drive demons from a leper or two rather than present us with anti-biotics. This is supposed to be the creator of the universe incarnate. Nah....he is so much like the previous dying-and-rising Gods, Osiris, Dionysus, Zalmoxis, Inanna, Adonis, Romulus, Asclepius, sharing so many traits like baptism, a passion, virgin birth, etc.

A Trump voter will never come close to understanding how wrong their fucked-up life-view and presuppositions really are.
