I helped at a Christian burial once. The guy said he wasn't dead but everybody knew what a liar he was, he was a preacher.

I volunteer to join the USN the day after I graduated from high school. They lined us up at the processing center and had us count off by fours. I was four. Then a Marine sargeant stepped up and said "everyone who said four take two steps forward." I did.

"Congratulations, you men have the chance to become US Marines."

I raised my hand.

"What do you want?"

"I joined the Navy."

"Did you sign a contract?"

"Yes, sir, last January. 'Delayed Entry' the recruiter said."

"Okay, take two steps backward. Man to his right, take two steps forward."

Muttering "you son of a bitch!" he stepped forward.

Me, very quietly "neener neener neener."

I sometime wonder if he survived the Corps. In 1970 some didn't.

The above proves that knowing when to volunteer is as important as knowing why to volunteer.

Well, I have used it for 11 years. It did a good job. I've got a new one. :D The video card, the power unit... the office licence, the monitor. I am so broke right now, it is not even funny.
