so i joined a christian forum almost a year ago. someone pointed out that it's funny for me to be there even though i'm atheist. so i started thinking, why have i not joined an atheism forum yet?

i crave intellectual abuse... kidding :D. i'm not really sure, i want to know them better and have some exchange, to see how they react to my opinions and what i base them on. it has been humbling and enlightening at least.

edit:i highly recommend joining into groups outside your own clique, as i said its very humbling. it has helped me humanize people of faith. but you need patience and you should never attack or be hostile in any way.

I was raised as a Christian and have been surrounded by them and inundated with their philosophy my entire life.  Joining a Christian forum is not my idea of expanding my horizons or learning anything new.

as most of us have religious backgrounds we would fail to see any reason why it would be humbling. Embarrassing that we were once that, yes, humbling no.

Welcome!  I'm pretty new here myself.  They can be a rowdy bunch and much of the time I don't even post, because they have already written pretty what I would have.  I like the idea of checking out other cliques, but doubt if I would be welcome in any.  Anyway, welcome to the grinder.  =P~

I belong to a Christian forum ... haven't posted there in a year or more.  But I agree that having heterodox opinions in one's life is a good thing.

I don't actually know of any cliques here. There are some trolls (hidden evangalist). Please jump in. You may think what you wanted to say has been posted, but then we can't see your personality.
Me as you can guess, I'm direct even harsh. I don't put up with BS. I don't tollerate games. BUUUUUT i don't hold people accountible for mistakes. I appreciate that YOUR opinion can and most likely will differ from mine. I am no expert on ANYTHING. I will argue and if I argue with you I will probably seem unfair. Just reign me in. I can accept that go too far. Hey if you prove me wrong you will get my respect. Consequently I respect a great many people so far.
I am a Liberal Proggressive Democrat DIED IN THE WOOL! My best friend in this world is a stupid conservative republican (dumbass). So many things can be accomplished.

The thing about this forum is that I am nowhere NEAR the smartest one here. I can't say that if I were on a christian forum.
I like this forum because in many ways it is like PBS/NPR/BBC AMERICA are right in my office and I am talking to them. Sometimes someone from FOX shows up but you know those people are SO rude.
Oh I love to cuss. It's a creative art talent of mine. Not sexual cussing, just plain old profanity!

Hi and welcome.

I've not joined a theist forum in a long time, mainly because whenever I say I'm an atheist I get banned within a few days.

Also, I just can't be doing with the stupid if I'm honest. I know a fair few theists in real life, and that's enough.
