Despite me previously complaining about the blandening of America, a topic that veered somewhat into corporate logos, there's a reason why I didn't weigh in on this and it's not because half of my posting attempts are devoured by 503 - The Forbidden One.  It's because it smelled fishy.  Such an odd thing to care so passionately about, especially when there are some pretty big and serious and frighteningly real things going on that are also vying for one's attention.  Well, jokes on us, because bots don't care about anything.

I'm the real victim here: Gun-toting conservative under arrest for credibly threatening to shoot up gay pride parade, says it's in retaliation for Kirk getting shot by a conservative white guy.

Here's the $64,000 question: would he be a peaceful person if Kirk were alive today?  I'm guessing no.

So really, he's just grasping at straws to justify doing what he already wanted to do.  And he planned on luring others to his cause by capitalizing on conservative grief over Kirk's death to incite violence against a marginalized group he already doesn't like which itself is due in a large part to relentless conservative messaging about them from the top.  Whew.  It's just layer after layer of manipulation, hate, and fear over there.  I'm super glad that's not a mainstream thing and rightfully shunned by elected officials.

Also, liberals need to turn down the heat.  They're the violent ones, maybe.  That is, if you ignore the official statistics.  Feelings over facts.

My working theory is that he walked by someone watching Star Trek during a sickbay scene and one of his aides said it was a real thing and so he asked for a video of it so he could brag about it online and so they slapped an AI video together thinking he couldn't tell the difference between AI slop and real stuff.

I think the silver lining is that someone had actually had sense to get the post retracted.  The bad news is that it was posted in the first place.  This is what passes for a presidency these days.  Oh... and on some blurb you'll be sure to find 'democrats deny miracle beds to taxpayers'.
