So, Tomorrow is the debate.  Here's some recommended drinking game rules:

• Trump talks about Biden being hopped up on drugs take a sip
• If Jake Tapper or Dana Bash bring it up, do a shot.
• But if they bring it up in the context of how Trump has joked about it, do a whole shot.
• If they bring up Trump joking about it but it's clear they didn't get the joke, do a second shot
• If Biden admits that he's wasted and finally cries out for help to stop the elder abuse being perpetrated against him by Jill and his White House handlers, cheers to him for finally breaking free of his captors and take a swig out of the bottle
• When (and let's be honest, he's going to do it) Biden tries to take credit for "creating 15 million jobs," do a shot
• When Trump points out that the vast major of those "jobs" were positions returning after the COVID lockdowns were lifts, take a sip
• If that fact is brought up by either Tapper or Bash first, don't drink anything...you're either suffering from alcohol poisoning already or you've just witnessed history and will want to remember where you were when a CNN employee fact-checked a Democrat in real time
• Same goes for if Joe is corrected when he repeats his lie about inflation or gas prices being lower than when he took office
• Chug for 3 seconds if anyone informs the public that Biden drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to try to get prices down, endangering our national security in an attempt to win reelection
• If Trump brings up Hunter first, do a shot
• If Joe does, then Trump says something like his brother suffered from addiction and he'd never attack someone for getting clean, the criticism is about corruption, don't drink at all because you might have just witnessed a turning point in the election
• If Biden mentions Russia, do yourself a favor and don't drink anything. He'll likely mention Russia a lot, and claim Trump is somehow a tool of Putin because he thinks ending the war in Ukraine is a good idea
• But do a shot if Trump points out that Democrats are absolutely in favor of an immediate ceasefire and negotiations in Israel, where Jews are defending themselves from a very recent terrorist attack, while calling the concept of even broaching the subject of a negotiated ceasefire in Ukraine an affront to democracy without explaining how that is
• Don't, however, drink enough to try to make sense out of this, otherwise you will die
• If Trump actually behaves take two shots
• If Biden doesn't have a senior moment take two shots

The Presidential debate is so weird this year.  It's supposed to be about rival candidates debating plans and policies but the Republican guy was a no-show and some disgusting felon wandered onstage instead.  I hope they escort that guy out and give him the mental care he desperately needs while the actual republican candidate gets ready.

I don't like either one of them. Seeing him on TV, squinting his eyes, starting his sentences with "folks," my brain just goes, "Oh, shut up, you senile old fart." The guy is such a boring, milk-toast President. I don't trust a word he says, and I have to wonder why he wanted so badly to be President if he was going to do basically nothing. And that's something that scares me a little. If the best thing about Biden is that he's not a Republican, then whoop-de-do. Might as well hand the country over to the Republicans and let them drag us to the iron age. We know the Republicans will get out and vote, but if Biden can't get enough people motivated to go to the polls, we're all fucked.

That was bad last night. I watched for an hour and then turned it off wondering how Democrats could have let Biden run for a second term. It seems to me the White House staff and the Democratic leadership did a good job of hiding Biden's frailties from view during the last couple of years. I've seen very little of him in clips, and the ones I did see were not reassuring. The State of the Union speech was only acceptable at best. But last night was a blow out the likes of which I have never seen in one of these debates before.

Trump's lies and exaggerations will have little effect on Republicans. Biden, who has always been a bit of a stumbler, took his biggest stumble last night, and he now appears to be only qualified enough to let others make decisions for him. This would be better than having Trump make any decisions, but hardly the way to instill confidence in the White House.

The silent power figures in the Democratic Party have been working hard to be mediocre for the last 10 years. There needs to be a change at that level. There have to be qualified Democrats to run for President. Maybe none of them want the job. I wouldn't blame them. But please send someone to the plate that can at least get on base. This race to mediocrity needs to end.

Why the fuck was Trump even there? Wasn't he JUST convicted on multiple felony charges? Does that mean nothing? Not that I think DeSantis or any of the others would be any better, but Trump should be disqualified from holding any position in government.

US politics are fucked up. In order for a president to do his job, he has to see classified information. Clearance for which includes not having bankruptcies, among other things. If the rules for everyone else are there, they should apply to prospective presidential nominees, as well. Somehow, that doesn't matter (though it matters immensely- just look what the chump does with classified information).
