Is there a Nobel prize for doing a routine task in a normal, safe way?

Much better than that "Peaceful life"?

I just watched an actually pretty good TV show with several really fantastic villains - menacing without being over-the-top.  Believable.  They are powerful, have a clear purpose, and pursue it ruthlessly - the secret sauce for any decent villain.  My problem is that the show drops the ball with their deaths.

One of the villains is a well-intentioned extremist (a person who commits evil for a good cause), who railroads the protagonists under threat of death, straight up kills a several people on multiple occasions at the drop of a hat (so you know she's serious), turns on the protagonists, then very nearly kills the protagonist - a real edge-of-your-seat moment -

...and then she wanders into her own death, which is treated with all the gravitas of a dead goldfish.

The next is a petty tyrant with a passion for the arts, who is actually sort of nice until you cross her.  She's the kind of person to have a torture room with a Hieronymus Bosch painting on the wall, asks some questions (which don't get answered) then she changes the subject and monologues about the painting, noting a background character whose face is contorted in pain in a very specific way, and then she jams a meat hook into the captive's shoulder before remarking with satisfaction that their expressions are identical.  You do not disobey her and live.

...then she gets into a verbal confrontation with one of her lieutenants and dies in a kind of sad and pathetic way.  Like a grandma who fell and couldn't get back up.

Surely, you guys can understand my frustration here.  It's like grilling a steak to perfection then dropping it in the grass.  The end is the best part, make it exciting!  Better yet, make it fit the character!  Make it ironic, make it scary, make it quite the struggle.  Whatever you do, don't make it boring!

No, they just don't teach THE TRUTH. Cousins are big on THE TRUTH. Can't tell me why it's THE TRUTH, divine gift from Cthulhu or that other one, I guess.

Well, obviously she just caught a tiny fucking flying thing out of the air and is about to attach it to her wings. It's tricky to do this because her flashlight is stuck to the spot where her tits should be and the fucking flying things are hard to kill.

Duh. Try harder!

The convo in the awesome pics thread reminded me this bit from the British series 'Fleabag' that I love very much.

'I have a vagina on me'
