I interpreted it as heavy laughter and a compliment.  I am also clarifying that I mean it completely earnestly in addition to the humorous juxtaposition.

I just heard a youtuber pronounce pterodactyl as "puh-terra-dacktle", which makes my pronunciation slip ups look mild in comparison.  Cat-a-strof averted!
