Fell for it again:  Redcaps on twitter falsely claim that No Kings anti-fascist protest crowd size was exaggerated because their frequently "ideologically adjusted" AI said so

QuoteThe unapproved Community Note lists three links about 2017 protests in Boston, but none support the claim that the aerial footage is old.

Screenshots of Grok's claim and the unapproved Community Note were shared widely, including by pro-Trump influencers, as evidence of protestors misleading the public about the size of the "No Kings" demonstrations which took place across the US.
They lie again and again and occasionally those lies are deleted or edited to be correct, but only after spreading disinformation far and wide, muddying the waters.

George Soros Declares Bankruptcy After Paying No Kings Protestors (satire)

I just feel bad for people who had to work that day like me, because that one-day payout was more than most of us make our entire lives.  You'd think more people would be out on the streets for that sort of payday.  Becoming a millionaire overnight would do a lot to ease the sting of Trumpflation.

The entire Republican party is an invasive feces! 💩

The peril of being sarcastic around stupid people...

It's doubtful if the US can ever recover from the anti-green energy moron-in-charge. The world looks to China now. I read that clean energy usage has surpassed coal globally. We have given up on democracy anyways, so no big loss as we turn over the keys.

So, uhh... Trump just said we're going to start killing people "bringing drugs into our country." In other words, he's going to start assassinating people who are trying to cross the border. Great, yeah. This is normal.

Yeah, extrajudicial execution is all the rage these days.

Jeff Bezos Says He Doesn't Understand Why Anybody Alive Now Would Be 'Discouraged'—Because Soon, 'Millions Of People Will Be Living In Space'

So I have this really strange idea.  How about we get food, housing, and healthcare to just about everyone, wipe out major diseases instead of having them make comebacks, put a stop to all major wars, give all citizens a real say in the composition of their government, etc and then we can talk space.  Otherwise, what's the point?

We live in a late-stage capitalist society. All of what you just mentioned is irrelevant to the super wealthy and, indeed how our society is largely structured. I saw an article today about a Mellon heir donating $130 million to "help" pay the armed forces during the shutdown. In the comments of the NYTimes, I saw people complaining that the 1 percent don't have money to pay for taxes but can for this stuff and that's the point. The wealthy don't want to pay for what they perceive as parasitic poor.

Although some of your other points reflect how we're now living in a post-truth era, one of which I feel sad to live in.

Interesting that the super rich are reluctant to pay for the poor, because the other way around is very common.  So the wealth circulates until it makes it to the super rich, then, for the most part it's sequestered away - hoarded.

We pay taxes to support the rich, while we're expected to work multiple jobs to pay for rent, childcare, healthcare. Socialism for the rich, capitalism for the poor.
