If you knew, you would know we have had a Hindu atheist post here in the past.  Some Buddhists are also atheist.  Western people are like one dimensional people in Flatland.  Not even two dimensional.

I've seen claims, but the logic is not persuasive.  At the least theistic, Hindus sometimes retreat into not being monotheistic.  I don't consider polytheism vs monotheism a descriptive of atheism.  Theists of any sort are theists; atheists are not.

In simplified terms, yes.  But Hinduism has many types, as does Buddhism.  And their notion of deity isn't Abrahamic anyway.  But yes, theist Hindus and Buddhists are like our polytheist ancestors of yore.  If you reduce everything to binary, then take the last step to nihilism ... 00000000000000
