Title: Trump Poems
Post by: ferdmonger on July 05, 2018, 11:24:46 PM
Trumpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Trumpty Dumpty had a great fall
All Mueller's horses and Mueller's men
Couldn't put Trumpty together again

TweedleBama and TweedleHillary
Agreed to create corrupt'in;
For TweedleBama said to TweedleHillary
Blame Trump kissing Ras-Putin.
Just then flew down the mighty "T",
and destroyed their fantasy
Which frightened TweedleBama and TweedleHillary
Oh, how they cried at the party victory.

Trump is too scary for me to write poetry about. But maybe a good one might be Jabberwocky. Beware the Jabberwock my son!

The opening lines remind me of his word-salad speeches to his base, at his rallies.

I can't write poetry so will share the lyrics of Aimee Mann's song "Can't You Tell?" She wrote the song before the election from the point of view of Trump after he was mocked by Obama at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2011.

"Can't You Tell?"

That bastard making fun of me in front of all my peers
Those people think I own this town, you're stripping all my gears
Well guess what Mr. President, I'll be seeing you
In four years

Though on the campaign trail the papers paint me like a clown
Still all I see are crowds who want to fit me for a crown
I point out all my enemies just so my fans
Bring them down

Isn't anybody going to stop me?
I don't want this job
I don't want this job, my god
Can't you tell
I'm unwell

You try to pin me down but you don't really try that hard
I throw out any shit I want and no one trumps that card
So dazzled and distracted by your fantasy
Of Hildegard

Isn't anybody going to stop me?
I don't want this job
I don't want this job, my god
Can't you tell
I'm unwell

You ask about my plan but baby my plan is to win
I wind up all the tops and watch the others keep the spin
You handing me grenades is just compelling me
To pull the pin

Isn't anybody going to stop me?
I don't want this job
I can't do this job, my god
Can't you tell
I'm unwell

"Stoopid is as stoopid does."

Yeah...

It's the killing of witches and their cats that caused the rats with their pestilence-ridden fleas to spread around Europe causing the Plague.
It's the burning-at-the-stake of people like Giordano Bruno for supporting the idea that stars were just distant suns.
It is the non-evidentary trial of Galileo Galilei, forcing him into house arrest.
It is the current day refusal of fools to understand that evolution applies to humans.
It is the deniers who claim that humans aren't responsible for modern climate change due to fossil fuel burning because "Only God could affect the whole world".

It is the "stoopid peeple" of the world on your side.
It is the persistence of faithful but unthinking morons who believe in any deity.

Covfefe

I must give it to our twitter-superstar
He makes it look easy to build a wall,
with only a mouth big and hands small.
Though bridges would be better by far.

Perhaps they could cross some seas
too far for his swiftly sinking ship
on it's almost rueful titanic trip
to the shores of different ideologies.

Did Noah ever find himself in this position
with rats and elephants fleeing the ark
to drown in the wet, cold and quite dark?
't is dangerous when blind men have a vision.

A lie, one at first.
Then two, to make it worse.
And then a few to confuse the people.

But then came a standard lie per day,
To chase all discussion away.
To get People used to hearing lies.

And when the people got used to hearing the lies,
Mere false statements seemed to be minor, and that was the purpose.
Of changing the subject day by day until most people couldn't be bothered

To figure out what was false and what was true.
I don't let his false statements fool me.
Do you let all his false statements fool you?

Did you know that both party mascots were originally insults?  As was "Yankee Doodle Dandy".  The Elephant of the Republicans was originally representing stupidity and obstinance, and the Democratic mule was about the same.

Yankee Doodle Dandy is even funnier.  "Maccaroni" was a fashion in England among the neer do well rich where dandies wore outrageously-decorated hats and clothes. And the dandies rode prettified horses.

So the British joke about Americans was that they would stick a single feather in their caps and ride on a simple pony and think they were following the fashion...

Or so I recall from some article in Smithsonian magazine many years ago...

MY understanding of the causes of the American Revolution come from several years of college courses AND several textbooks I found later.  It seems to me that it was partly a desire to choose local leaders, partly a desire of the land-wealthy/cash-poor Colonists (at the time), partly a desire of the Southern colonists to escape the British law outlawing slavery, and a general desire to remove thuggish British soldiers from the colonists homes.'

One might call it a "Perfect Political Storm".

Trump is to poetry,
As starlight is to the bottom of a cave.
Meqning there is no light there.

Not a candle in the dark,
So much as a darkness in the light.

Where there would be voters,
He says let there be not.

If a voter offends thee,
Cast him out.
Especially if the him is a her.
Or minority, I say they are fake.

All tghe only ones are old might male
Dad told me so when you can't prove
HE gave me money
And said "go forth and lie, cheat, and steal".

Money hidden awy shall protect you my son...
Said the old man in the NYC.

And never say "die".
Push until the last opponent is ground
Into the dust of the sidewalks you own.
That is Trumpf manliness.
Let all who walk the sidewalks pay you...

And the son did as told.
He named the sidewalks and
Made the sefs pay to walk upon them
In the GLORY of the family name.

He abetted the Hessians
When they paid.
And the outerlings of the Steppes.
They paid and smiled at the
Ssssmall pocket change the Trupmf demanded
For his returns on the stage of the world...

And he saw it was GOOD!

Good profit, good attention, good safety from he pitchforks...

Yes, let's be good little Trumpites.
Bow to the Leader.
Goosestep if demanded.

: a secluded dwelling of a Hindu sage also : the group of disciples instructed there

2 : a religious retreat

Logically, there can be no "atheist ashram"...
I don't know, are there any Hindu atheists?

;-)

If you knew, you would know we have had a Hindu atheist post here in the past.  Some Buddhists are also atheist.  Western people are like one dimensional people in Flatland.  Not even two dimensional.

I've seen claims, but the logic is not persuasive.  At the least theistic, Hindus sometimes retreat into not being monotheistic.  I don't consider polytheism vs monotheism a descriptive of atheism.  Theists of any sort are theists; atheists are not.

In simplified terms, yes.  But Hinduism has many types, as does Buddhism.  And their notion of deity isn't Abrahamic anyway.  But yes, theist Hindus and Buddhists are like our polytheist ancestors of yore.  If you reduce everything to binary, then take the last step to nihilism ... 00000000000000

The number of 0s you type is meaningless without a decimal point.  A thousand 0s is the same as one.

In computer science, each 0 is a place holder.  You don't sum them up.

X := A + B ... that is a command to sum (per Pascal as I recall).  The actual binary in location (variable A) might be 16 etc bits long.  I didn't realize you wanted me to put the variable in Hex.

I'm better in Basic and Fortran.  Next/Then subcommands were a specialty of mine to shorten code.  But that was decades ago.

But speaking of bit-processing, can I revert a new Windows PC from 64 bit processing to a 16 bit?  I want to play Civ2 again.  I have all the old Win 98 software disks.  I really just need a dumber PC.  LOL!  Reversion software doesn't seem to work.

The answer is ... no.  The hardware does matter.  As does Windows sand-boxing of what apps you can run.  They are now preventing newer versions of office from running on anything prior to Win 10.  Of course.

You seem to be stuck in an endless unbreakable "do loop" ... so yes, you do seem to specialize in self-abusive forms of coding.

If there are 8 bits in a byte, how much is 2 bits?

So, you are saying that a Windows 64 bit processor will run a 16 bit Windows program?  Are you SURE?  Bill says no.

Bill Gates is one of the biggest white-collar criminals on this planet.  Trust him?  Generally games run directly on the hardware I/F ... they aren't coded to be portable from one generation to another.  To be portable, you have to code to the Windows internal libraries, and hope that Microsoft doesn't pull the rug out from under a function you depend on.

Old news ...

https://www.computerworld.com/article/3293429/microsoft-windows/with-daas-windows-coming-say-goodbye-to-your-pc-as-you-know-it.html

Needless to say, government IT keeps closely in touch with the whys and wherefores of the software they depend on.  Otherwise Mr Gates would be sleeping with the un-bought copies of Vista.
