A lot of the older love letters (victorian era or earlier) were incredibly raunchy - to the point that they'd shock modern audiences.  At least that's what I heard from a friend.

I don't know what that guy's problem is. How are you supposed to know an ingredient's magical effect if you don't stick everything in your mouth?

Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,

Oh. Good idea.

Reminds me of the year I spent working in the tasting room of Parducci Wine Cellars, just north of Ukiah.
When I started, I knew only that there was red wine and white wine. But soon, within about two months, the other tasting stewards were sending people to me with their questions!
We were encouraged to drink the wine, even while at work. So it was a very fun job!

That's pretty much where I'm at.

(I know that's a gendered meme and kinda BS imho, so just assume the person on the left is an expert and the person on the right is a non-expert)

Also, why are tangerines more orange (color) than even oranges (the citrus fruits that became the origin of their namesake color) ??

Mr.Obvious

Well, men tend to be more prone to  colorblindnes.
Like my cousin, my uncle ans one of his sons, my grandpa and me.

That is why i allign more with the dude in that pic.
I honestly think women, by and large, are better at noticing distinct shades. Be it by some lingering benefit from our hunter-gatherer days and/or because the root of colorblindness is found on the xy-chromosones.
Not enough to make assumptions, perhaps, by i fo think there is a distinction in broad terms at least.

I used to wonder why white zinfandel was called white, since it's pink.
