Hell, when I was 11 years old I and some other kids paddled canoes 600 miles down the Sabine River in Texas, from Gladewater to the Gulf of Mexico. Took us 7 weeks and a day. 🛶

Just so I wouldn't die. This was 1963 and bed rest was still a thing. I didn't feel sick but I would get dizzy if I moved around too much. Of course, being a child, the adults didn't tell me shit.
