"Paldin" was a gun-for-hire on the TV show "Have Gun, Will Travel". Richard Boone, quite the badass for the day, played Paladin. I guess what's his name up there is afraid of getting shot. I could be wrong.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

I remember Paladin, but what does BBEG mean? 🤔

About 25 years ago I thought about writing a book about knight's tours, and I was wanting to title it The Peripatetic Paladin: Journeys of the Knight. I never got around to it though.

Big Bad Evil Guy (BBEG) was popularized on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which often had a monster-of-the-week format.  The term has been embraced in tabletop games, but it's actually more of a general term for the main villain, often someone who seeks to conquer and/or destroy the world, often through intermediaries who do the actual dirty work.

Fun fact: the main underling of the BBEG is known as the Dragon (more figurative than literal, though it can be literal).  And in every type of media there is, it's customary for the heroes to only be aware of the Dragon and fighting against the Dragon at first.  Then, after the Dragon is defeated or killed or joins the heroes, then the BBEG is revealed to continue and escalate conflict.

It's such an incredibly common trope in fiction that Dragon/Big Bad pairs in movies is a huge chunk of all good vs evil type movies - action movies, fantasy movies, etc.

Never heard the term, but I "watch" TV when I walk through the room, and avoid movies like the plague, in or out of theaters.

Blanket refusal of anything, a good idea?

A Blanket refusal to look into my Search history is a real good idea.

Amazon had a good price for that. I was going to look into it.

Is it an electric blanket?

Because it's shocking?

BOOSH!

The paladin is also one of the most virtuous of characters. They're sworn to an oath to do good, and breaking their oath results in their powers being taken away. So a paladin responding to the BBEG with, "No, actually, he's got a point." That's a pretty big turn.

Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
