It takes balls to use a smoothbore musket.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

A friend of mine built a musket from a kit. Woody was a refuge from the US child-care system.* He didn't pay much attention to the directions but did get it to the point where it could be fired. We went out to a wood lot and he loaded it up and commenced shooting. The rifle was kicking his butt and I was having too much fun laughing at him to point out that he hadn't cut the powder cup down to the size appropriate for that piece. It was BOOM-BOOM TIME! As I watched him I realized there was a state trooper watch him as well. The rifle was making a hell of a racket and the mountie was called in to see WTF. He was cool, took a few rounds himself. So the "communist invasion" of Indiana came to a peaceful end.

*He had a "lazy eye" so the facility decided he couldn't be educated.(Meaning they had a extra body to work on the floors, toilets, etc. instead of sending him to school.)

Well, I for one, refuse basic necessities because that'll somehow impair my yacht dreams.

My brother's buddy bought a yacht but couldn't really afford it. Costs about $150 in fuel just to take a ride, had to pay dockage fees. Something was always broken, and it often needed to be hauled out for maintenance. Finally, it sank in a storm and destroyed the dock and he had let the insurance lapse. Beyond a complete loss.

The power of prayer might not help amputees or people suffering from pogroms, but it might help you find a sharpie in a mountainous foreign country, where I assume they still use clay tablets.  Truly miraculous.  🙏

Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients together. Melt three sticks of butter in a small sauce pan. Heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Break three eggs and take the yolk, but not the whites, and drop it into the dry ingredients. Stand on one foot and recite the National Anthem, backwards. Spin around three times and do a raspberry.

Step 2:
"Oh, wearisome condition of humanity,
Born under one law, to another bound;
Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."
--Fulke Greville--
