Dawkins kills me with those faces. I dropped an "FFS, learn something, will you?" bomb on an old family friend over the holidays. He just goes on being the young Earth creationist that he is. I don't care, he is a good guy, but I have a stupid-talk threshold and he blew right by it.

Richard Dawkins has a lot more patience with these people than I would be able to muster. I'd just inundate them with a plethora of incompatible properties arguments and be done with it.

Our species' survival up to now never really depended on comprehension of super slow events relative to a human lifetime. Any person tied up in immediacy will never get evolution nor understand how everything from continental drifts to the introduction of oxygen by plants has shaped their existence.

However, I must say that climate change seems like it is occurring unbelievably fast. It should be friggin frightening to all. Processes with exponential positive feedback are rare but holy crap they can wreck mayhem on a biosphere.

Hell, even Frankenstein's monster and Herman Munster had nice tight bolts! 🤣

That'll be super easy, barely an inconvenience!  We just show him popular culture stuff and just normal life stuff - just all sorts of stuff - and it'll make him want to go on a green screen and talk about how that stuff is bad.  I know that sounds like a downer, but he'll do this man-from-mars concise breakdown of complex stuff that's somehow endlessly entertaining.  Endlessly entertaining stuff on youtube is tight!  And he'll be so distracted doing that he'll just completely forget about the constant crushing passage of time inevitably wearing away flesh, bone, even the most treasured ideas, and ultimately reality itself into just this super fine mist that eventually evaporates into nothingness.  So yeah, that's about it.
