I'm actually a dumb American about this, but cant they just have like an un-Brexit vote? Obviously it would cost to revert back, but reality is what reality is. You can accept this or live in a lie; cheaper and easier to fix your mistake now than later.

Pretty sure given the state of the world, most of the EU would let them back in with reasonable conditions... though France, Germany and Hungry do scare me.

I am also a dumb American and I guess not.  I distinctly remember the europeans having a similarly simple solution to the Roe VS Wade debacle a year ago.  "Can't you just not listen to the Supreme Court?"  Doesn't work that way, lol.

Ah yes, I too watch cooking shows with ingredients in millimeters.

And grams is such a strange measurement to us Americans, which appears on literally all our medicine and in parantheses on our food.

And a lot of drinks come in 2-liter bottles.

But yeah, that's way too difficult to learn.  I'll just stick to this handy chart:

Ah, simplicity.

Tory government won't touch a rejoin effort with a forty yard stick. In their eyes, it would make them look foolish and irresponsible.
Irony at its finest.

Plus  i think they'll have to work to reallignment with the european single market for a while, ro privz they mean it. And to make sure the ideaolgical jump isn't too far for the hard-line brexiteers. It will be a slow crawl rather than a sprint.

Honestly, if the eu were to accept. Their 'cost' would be minimal, because their greater cost arises from the bat-shit insane position they are in now. Any adminstrative cost to rejoin would be peanuts to this ongoing national self harm.

But only one member needs object: veto, and the UK is (for then) barred from joining, even if the UK were ready to rejoin.
And while there are many and obvious reasons for welcoming them back. I would hope we do so cautiously.

Honestly, the port of antwerp-bruges managed to come better out of brexit than we were before. We managed to nab a bigger slice, be it from a smaller pie, but we got a bigger slice. Which is ole ofour largest parts of the economy.
Now, selfish reasons aside, because we see the strength of the union as an evrn more important factor. And in that regard, adding the uk population to our market, if they adhere to the single market and forgo their other, worse, trade deals, is a good thing. It would also solve the northern ireland problem.
But i would jope we get one mjor concession before letting them rejoin. Namely, a prerequisite that they can't have another brexit for a period of, let's say, 20 or 30 years.
The entire brexit-mania hurt us more than their actual departure. I find this not an unreasonable demand.
But: that'll make the pridefull brexiteers even more feevent in not rejoining. They'd take it like an insult.

Musk Tweets His Support for McCarthy Amid Republican Gridlock
That dude Musk really knows how to double down, LOL

Mr.Obvious

You know, i know its not gonna happen, but would so love for jeffries to convince 6 republicans to just vote for him. Or get 11 republicans to vote present.

He'd have a horrible time as speaker in a republican majority. But it would be the biggest F.U. to mccarthy. And hey, it's gonna suck anyways.
I would pay money to watch mccarthy having to unpack all his shit from the office of the speaker he preemptively claimed.
It's be therapeutic.
