How can you be sure my refusal to agree with your claim a symptom of my ignorance and not yours?

"And the horse you rode in on!", is always a good ender.

And can one add:  "and the dog that follows!"?  Or--"....and all of Cincinnati, too!"?

BTW, does anybody know where this saying began???

Probbaly as old as the times people started to use horses to travel around. Very old?

There is a world where there are no horses. It's a rather medieval world, chivalry, armor, all that, and the knights ride giant dogs.

One time a knight was dispatched on an urgent mission to get help from a nearby kingdom. He rode out into a fierce storm, making his way in the dark night. Disaster struck when a bridge collapsed and his dog was swept down stream and away from him. He made it to the dark and saw a light in the distance, a farmer's house.

He knocked on the door and the farmer let him in. When he explained his situation the farmer said he'd be right back. He returned with the mangiest, skinniest, ugliest dog the knight had ever seen. But he was desperate and was about to take it when the farmer's wife spoke up.

"Damn it! You can't send a knight out on a dog like this!"

In this world it would be---fuck you and the dog you rode in on!--I guess.
