I find this interesting. Many years ago, I think it was after the "war of the worlds" movie with Tom cruise that I suspected perhaps we could battle these highly tech machines with simpler weaponry as their sophisticated sensors would be able to easily trace bullets through sound and/or radar and immediately fire and wipe out the person firing, but they could not trace an arrow from a crossbow, so I wrote a short story where "we" used wooden arrows to fire into every moveable joint the machines had to the point they started to fail. Of course in my story "we" won and passed along the info and eventually the world was spared thanks to crossbows. Pretty sure the simpleness would not actually work, but it was a fun lil story to imagine.
