In what way?  Pizza Hut really did have a Book It! program, in fact it's still on offer.  And you really could get credit for reading a bunch of books (don't recall the amount) and did get an individual-sized pizza out of it.  Not exactly a huge windfall, but for a little kid, having your very own anything was a BIG deal.  And definitely not habit forming in any destructive way *installs a bookcase-shaped pizza storage stand in the freezer, then proceeds to label each one - several bear the same date*
