QuoteA MASS brawl between more than 200 refugees erupted today as they used broken up chairs and beds to attack each other in a huge fight described by police as "extreme aggression".

Officers in 50 vehicles rushed to the scene at the migrant camp in Hamburg to stop the warring groups and several people were treated in hospital.
Politicians and police have now begun to separate the refugees in the district of Bergedorf in the port city along religions and ethnic lines.
Reports in German media have suggested the fights were between Syrian and Afghan refugee groups.
The shocking violence follows reports of a number of incidents in overcrowded camps in the country.

Giessen is seen as the most shocking of those, where they have been reports of child sex assaults and rapes at a refugee centre.
Women's rights groups believe a significant number of sex assaults there are going unreported.
Around 5,000 migrants are based at the camp, where campaigners say unaccompanied women are "fair game".

Police in an asylum centre in Kessel, in the centre of Germany, had to use tear gas at the weekend to break up a food riot between 400 people at a migrant camp.
Around 14 refugees were injured in the clashes when Pakistani and Albanians began brawling.
In Suhl, there was a fight when a Syrian refugee began ripping pages of the Koran.
Politicians are due to meet in Berlin in the coming days to discuss the ongoing violence at the centres.
Germany took in more than 200,000 migrants in the last month.

Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told parliament today there was a cap on migrant numbers but did not state a figure.
He said Germany was "trying damned hard" to find accommodation for the migrants.

Welcome to the future.

It is unfortunately normal that order will be achieved long after it was needed.  There were clearly no contingency plans, just wishful thinking, that the refugees would stay in Turkey.

Oh come, come now. The Germans are not responsible for the actions of their forefathers... Kidding apart, having said that, they have acquired a solid reputation of organizational skills, discipline, and work ethics, sometime to a characterization that is prone to sarcastic humor. So now that they are in the grips of a refugee crisis, and seems that they are unprepared by the extent of the crisis, it's going to be a long nightmare, one that no other country would want to face. But hey, I wish them good luck, they are certainly going to need it.

Hope they do. But I'm still predicting the rise of a conservative leader who can push the right buttons and get the majority on his/her side.

There will be over a million new [Muslim] migrants (not refugees!) in Germany very soon.
They will need housing, schools, medical treatment, jobs, welfare. Add to that the families, clans, tribes waiting to join.

These migrants are mainly (75%) young aggressive males, not known for work ethics.

Germany is in big trouble. Well, Europe is in big trouble.

America takes in one million immigrants per year, year after year ... so we are in big trouble too.  But after awhile you get used to it ;-)

Hamburg passes law to 'borrow' buildings to shelter refugees

QuoteHamburg has decided to borrow vacant commercial buildings over winter to shelter refugees, by compulsion if needed. Liberals have decried the decision, the first of its kind by one of Germany's 16 states.

A bylaw adopted by Hamburg's center-left parliament to allow temporary seizures of vacant buildings to overcome refugee accommodation shortages was slammed on Friday by the city's opposition free-market liberal FDP leader Katja Suding.

She told the German public radio channel Deutschlandradio Kultur that the bylaw amounted to a breach of property rights. She accused Hamburg's SPD-Greens coalition government of ignoring housing offers from citizens and rejected the argument that such accommodations would be insufficient for the number of asylum-seekers in the city, which is also one of Germany's 16 states.

Deutschland is getting desperate.

The US department of Immigration issues 50,000 green cards in any given year. Are you counting the illegal immigrants?
