I just watched some of the new version of "Conan, the barbarian" the new version,2011ish……holy crap…can you believe the original almost 30 years ago is a fucking masterpiece compared to this new piece of crap?  Wow. I give it a -infinity…really…..really.

I thought that one had potential, it just didn't gel for some reason. I don't know why. When after the opening action scene when he rescues a bunch of slaves and suddenly a topless woman appears, I was like "Yeah, that's Conan." But things petered away after that. I don't know if it was just a bad translation of Conan the Barbarian or if it was a superbly accurate translation and Conan doesn't work anymore these days.

Part of the reason Conan doesn't work these days is because his macho sexist bullshit doesn't sell these days.

Inside Out  10/10

Adults can appreciate this Pixar animation.  Ever wonder what goes on inside of the mind of a child?  Well, it appears there is a committee of characters each predisposed to a particular set of emotions.  They send messages to the child using a large control board with an array of buttons and switches.  The area they work in is appropriately called HEAD quarters, and it contains a huge amount of stored memories stored in bowling ball sized spheres.  They constantly consult with the memory storage to determine what messages they should send to the child.  The characters consult with each other in chaotic fashion, the end result that they don't always send the correct message.  This accounts for the child being happy, sad, goofy, sulky, or whatever.  A really delightful premise and well done.

Ant Man  8/10

This was way better than the coming attractions led me to believe.  Let's face it.  Superheroes are absurd.  This one is just a little more absurd than the others, but it's very interesting.

Train Wreck  8/10

Excellent romantic comedy that strikes me as a little bit different.  Sure, it's the same old romantic cliché that follows a formula, but very entertaining.  Never knew anything about Amy Schumer before, but she's funny, and I laughed a lot.

I had a busy weekend.  Saw Ant Man and Inside Out back to back.  I was trying to avoid sheet rocking the garage.

Green Bottle

Lila & Eve  2015

A mother takes revenge on the drug dealers who murdered her son in a drive-by shooting.

excellent movie,  8/10

All American Bully 0/10

Really bad movie.  Gosh, it was bad.  It reminds me of a freshmen college class media assignment.  Even the editing was bad.  The only person involved with this film that is beyond my criticism would be the Best Boy, but that's only because I have no idea what the Best Boy listed in the credits does.

Pixel: No intention of watching it, but it is getting absolutely slaughtered by critics. Good... fuck Adam Sandler in every way possible. Shame it brought down my opinion of Dinkledge though :\.

I didn't think it was as bad as the critics said, but it's not a good movie either. The premise was a good one, and I think they could have done more with it, but they settled for much less.  I'd give it a 4 or 5 out of 10.  Typical Adam Sandler.

Mission Impossible 7/10

These James Bond type films are always somewhat hard for me to follow.  I'm never sure what it is that the bad guys are doing that will allow them world domination in the end, and I never know why all these films require the hero to make a trip to Morocco.  Is Morocco, like a home base where all spies get together once a mission?  Is there a travel agency that books world tours for spies, usually 5 to 10 exotic locations per film, including a casino in Rio, and a bank vault in Switzerland?

MAD MAX Fury Road. Was exciting and fun to watch until I fell asleep.

Half-way through The Raid 2... an Indonesian... action?... film. It's just as badass as the first one, Indonesia isn't necessarily the first place I think of when I think action movies but fuck... they have the insane martial arts of the Asian tradition AND some really gritty, cringe-inducing violence that tops anything the U.S. puts out.

If you want violent, bloody, gore-y, action then the Raid 1 and 2 are right up your ally.

Well, had a friend over and we watched Unfriended. The trailer looked meh, somewhat appealing...we decided to give it a go. HORRIBLE. It had potential, but the plot wasn't fleshed out enough, you felt nothing for the characters, and the script was pretty awful. It's a story about a group of high school friends who go to a party one night, and everyone gets drunk, with one girl passing out. Someone takes a video of her, and posts her all over face book...and then, she is humiliated, and commits suicide. The movie takes place almost entirely on Skype, and the girl who died enacts revenge on everyone by haunting them on Skype. lol It sounds almost as silly as it actually is.

I mean ...what ghost haunts people on Skype sending them hand crafted memes? lol I found myself laughing as it went on.

A friend told me to watch Life is Beautiful and The Theory of Everything, so might look for these over the weekend. Think they both won awards. Life is Beautiful is a movie from the 90's he said...I think?

Hot Pursuit with Vergara and er….oh Witherspoon….meh. It is amusing in that noting else was on and it was slightly better than pre-season football, but not better than 4 re-runs of Big Bang Theory. 3/10
