New Job

So I have been away for a while, renovating this church into a house and trying to find decent work has had me completely absorbed. My latest job is at a local High school working as a PARAprofessional. I work with Special needs kids ranging from 16 and in diapers to normal kids that need help with home work. It is low pay and long hours, but I FINALLY get to ride the SHORT BUS and I like the kids. In one of my classes, the teacher puts bible passages on the board. This is a public school mind you, but this is the guy that interviewed me and I like him. I want to choose my battles here, as I like my job, the teachers and the students. If I'm going to make a stink it is going to be creationism in biology or something along those lines. BUT....I cannot let this slide. So instead of erasing the passages or mentioning anything, I have been adding new ones when no one is around...such as 2 Kings 223, and Isaiah 45:7. Any gems I should add?

You could find  the one that says no cripples are allowed in church... or no bastards until the 10th generation, those are always a fun time.

You could dig out the good old Thou shalt not lie, but everyone knows lying for god is blessed..

I recommend getting a third party involved. Perhaps you could provide an anonymous tip with cited violations to the school board. Or if you can get friendly enough to a level of trust with a supervisor within the staff, you may be able to get them to direct that it stop. A head-to-head is normally not beneficial and will probably create a hostile working relationship. Bottom line, get someone else to take care of it without disclosing your participation.

Stromboli, lots has been done on the place since I last posted. The basement is almost finished, the sanctuary is now divided, the stage is now a framed in kitchen that is insulated but on hold until I can get some pex pipe into the loft over it. I added a bathroom and a rolling book case to hide a room in the additions attic where we have exercise equipment and the LOTR figures. I'm finishing it out as a diorama. Then a bridge goes across the other side to my art studio which then goes up stairs to the first level of the steeple. You go through a hole in the wall to the second level, then up a rolling staircase to the top which now has windows in all four directions providing a great view. Then on the main level as you come in the front doors I replaced with pretty glass ones, there is a store front so I can one day sell my arts, an office and between the office and the den is a huge built in book case with a giant aquarium to house that HMS Victory model I am almost finished with. It has lights and will eventually have plexi-glass walls. I gave up on the Gothic look due to the lofts and the price of replacement windows and just went full blown modern. It looks ok, but I will need to add new siding, re-roof the steeple and then finish out the sanctuary. It's come a long way but I still have a long way to go. I also added a work shop outside and a 12' shaded canopy for parties etc, that has long pews and a fire pit. I took the wood from the old ceiling in the sanctuary and built a 14' trebuchet for BBQ entertainment. I'll try to post some recent photos.

I'd really like to see pics of the outside if you've got some. Still have the FSM emblem on it? Also, have you heard from Hillbilly Atheist? He hasn't been on here for awhile. I worry about him.
