The other night I was talking to a Christian about the female reproductive system.  The topic was how the fallopian tubes alternate which one drops an egg monthly, as well as how each month a new egg isn't made by the body, instead they just mature one at a time. (Somebody correct me if I'm dreadfully wrong on anything).  Anyway, I thought out loud, "Wow - How does the female body orchestrate all that?  That's amazing!  How does it know to do all that??".  The Christian pointed up at the sky and said, "God!"
For some reason, the conversation just stopped...And sadly, so did the Christian's curiosity.

Actually, the egg is released (dropped) alternately by one of the ovaries into a fallopian tube. Several eggs begin the process of maturity, but usually only one reaches full maturity each month. I'm not surprised to hear that your friend thinks that god is behind a woman's cycle...most Christians are really ignorant when it comes to their body. It's actually all triggered by hormones released from the hypothalmus (sp?). I grew up watching many different animals conceive and give birth, so I guess I never really considered our reproductive systems all that unique or amazing.
