Quote from: Jmpty on April 01, 2014, 01:56:56 PMI don't see the contradiction. It didn't say "most Hindus," it said " most Hindu Nationalists." Watch the film. All religion can be dangerous when zealots gain momentum.
Quote from: Aupmanyav on March 31, 2014, 11:22:37 PMFrom the link:"Most Hindu nationalists reject secularism and advocate for Hindutva, an ideology that defines Indian culture and politics in terms of Hindu religious values." and"While the Indian National Congress won 206 seats in the national assembly in 2009 (a 60% increase from the previous election), the B.J.P. won just 116 (a 30% decrease)."Don't you think there is a contradiction between the two statements? If Hindus who make 80% of the Indian population were fascists to this extent would INC (Indian National Congress of the Nehru-Gandhi dynastic family now headed by Sonia Maino, an Italian Catholic) have ruled India for 56 years out of 64 years of Independence?Sure, the Hindu party BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is again on ascendance, but it is because of misrule and corruption of Congress. People have got tired of it and do not like the heir apparent, Rahul Gandhi, whom Congress wants to make the Prime Minister. His popularity is 27% against 58% of Narendra Modi of BJP. Such a change happened earlier also. Although because of the fractured Indian politics, there is no guarantee that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister of India. This was an election year (we begin voting on April 10th). So, an exaggerated reaction to things is understandable. But beauty pageants and fashion shows have always been held regularly in India.
