Unfortunately, the Columbia professor doesn't understand how things work in the right wing echo chamber.  There is no standard of evidence high enough to accept a factual claim from a leftie.  

So when a Fox News watcher tells me "hundreds" of people have been killed and injured in Chevy Volt battery fires (the most evil car ever manufactured) because that's how he imagines reality, that's rock solid evidence in the right wing echo chamber.

When I showed him the NHTSA report of the one and only battery fire on the Volt - that it happened after the NHTSA crashed it into a barrier giving it a 5-star rating and then crushed it in the impound lot only to have a battery fire develop three weeks later - that's just a load of crap because we all know hundreds of people have been killed or injured by Volt fires.
