I can't believe they'd turn Sarah Conner into a girl boss like that. Ripley suddenly becomes more competent and powerful than than the marines, without ANY training? They turned her into a Mary Sue. What a way to shit on the legacy of the original movies. [/sarc]

It took me a while (since I first saw your opening post), but I ACTUALLY WATCHED the entire 55-minute video...laboriously so but I did. So you have at least 1 person who took your video suggestion "seriously", so as to say. I think it could have been shorter and/or more eloquent (and I say that even as someone who liked the video and agreed with 90% of what he said)...lol

I will next watch the "segment" (although I'm pretty sure what "section" of the video he/they chopped off)...and hope it's not too long as well.

EDIT: It's just 6 minutes long...good. I can probably watch it today!

It turns out I forgot and only watched it now, almost 3 months later...lmao (but I remember quite well the context of this "segment").

And it summarizes the "main" point of that entire video (or video-essay?) perfectly.

But...I think I have something more interesting to say, to the point of double-posting needlessly.

I have watched the very recent "Snow White" live-action remake/reimagining from Disney, and you know, I enjoyed it-- quite a bit, actually.

But under Trump 2.0, will it "forcibly" be the last "woke" mainstream movie to hit theaters? Or at least the last "woke" movie from Disney? Y'know, with all the "anti-woke" Project 2025 obsessively seeking to destroy everything that has even 1% or less of "leftist" or "communist" elements on it, even in pop culture itself.

So, what do you guys think?

I haven't seen it. Sure i will at some point.
The gf is a big disney fan.
One day when it shows on television, she'll probably catch it.
I'm not boycotting this flick on the get go. I just am tired of all these modern remakes.

I mean, take the aladin remake. It was... fine... but it didn't need to exist, at all. It was not nearly as charming as the original.
Jungle book? Same.
Lion king? Definitely.

At least malificent and cruella took an interesting take, trying to reform villains into anti-heroes.
And i didn't like those movies all that much either. Do remember having a thing for the actress who played cruella though.
