US President Donald Trump signed an executive order signalling the withdrawal a year ago, having criticised the organisation for being too "China-centric" during the Covid pandemic.

Gee, I wonder why they were preoccupied with China in general and Wuhan in particular?  It's a mystery!

The US Department of Health and Human Services said it took the decision due to the WHO's alleged "mishandling" of the pandemic, an inability to reform and political influence from member states.

There's somewhat of a fair point there but it's coming from a hoax guy who pumped up the demon sperm lady as a real expert while denigrating actual experts.  WHO definitely has its failings, but they're doing a much better job than the bleach guy.

Washington has traditionally been one of the biggest donors to the WHO, but has not paid its fees for 2024 and 2025, which has already caused huge job losses at the organisation.

Well that's part of the problem right there.

The US department said it would have bilateral relations with other countries to ensure disease surveillance and pathogen sharing, but were unable to provide information about which specific countries they had such links with so far.

Concepts of a plan, no doubt.  If they were serious about stopping pandemics, they would check in with Texas, because man, things are not looking good over there.  Red state politics, red state problems.

He had a firearm but he didn't have it in his hands.  He was holding a phone in his hands, not a gun.  So they not only summarily executed an American citizen, they lied about it in order to justify it.

Trump sent murderers loose on our streets.  After he dies, these murderers had better be brought up on charges.

Minnesota National Guard activated

City leaders, including Mayor Frey, have expressed outrage over the presence of federal agents in Minneapolis. There have been three shootings involving federal agents since the start of "Operation Metro Surge," two that have now involved fatalities.

"We ask that the Trump administration and the invasion of federal agents get out of our City. How many more people have to die?" said Mayor Frey.  "I hope they are reflecting right now. What are these actions accomplishing? Stand up for America because right now you're tearing us apart."

"Today federal agents beat, shot multiple times and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti. Eyewitness video shows reckless violence and federal agents taking the life of a Minnesotan. The Trump administration has already called Alex Pretti a domestic terrorist, he was a nurse," U.S. Senator Tina Smith said. "All Americans should be outraged at this unaccountable, violent federal force which is operating with impunity in our city. I want to say to the President you must stop Operation Metro Surge immediately and send these ICE agents home so our communities can be safe."
