My money is on match stick.  "Matchy" in a overly-familiar, taunting tone could be very grating.  Otherwise, coppertop or some variation of "clown/bozo" would be my top pick.

Well, it is a fantasy novel. The common thing here seems to be red things. So, what's red in your world and turn that into a slur, ladybird.

Over 30.000 words, but hitting some harder to make interesting chapters.
