Generally, they're pretty supportive of secular government. When religion is mentioned, it's usually in a fairly innocuous Kumbaya-my-lord sort of way. Compared to the often openly theocratic Republicans, this is a world of difference. Hell, Republicans often bash the Democratic Party for being an "anti-god party", apparently confusing not wearing your religion on your sleeve with being hostile to religion.

You took the blue pill, didn't you ;-) The secular folks at the top of every party, are not religious, they worship power. The base is religious. Democrats as a group are just as religious as the Republicans ... but they aren't Southern Baptist as much. Closer to Methodist.

There isn't a lot of difference between Cruz and Clinton ... they are both theocrats, but Hillary is more ... sub rosa. Both are false messiahs.

There is nothing genuine about Ms Clinton ... including her supposed secular or progressive views.

What you say is true. But then, what politician is honest? Name me anybody in DC that does not have power as the #1 goal?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent,
Is he able but not willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able or willing?
Then why call him god?

You don't vote for honesty ... but you don't vote for false messiahs either! Goldwater Republican since she was in diapers. Not that much difference between Americans and Germans ... gotta love a grown man dressed up like a boy scout, snazzy iconography too!

I think Bernie may fit that bill.

He may actually be secular and progressive, or he is putting on a very good act. Any atheist or skeptic who would vote for a Clinton, a Bush or Ted Cruz needs their membership card revoked. If they set up the election right, we will get Hillary vs Ted ... and get a Dominionist either way, one under cover, the other on top. Trump and Bernie are the only two at this point that can save us from a psycho religious dictatorship like Iran.
