I just discovered this stuff last night and tried it today..it works!
Kratom is a non opiate pain killer that is legal in all 50 states and sold not only online, but in most head shops, etc.
I've struggled for many years to control pain, but also to control my use of opiate based narcotic medication including the use of heroin for some period of my life and now I struggle with the use of pills that I've had to buy on the black market so recently I've been going through some degree of withdraw because of the lack of availability. This is and has been an ongoing struggle for me for many years .
It's widely available and has a lot fewer side effects that opiate based medications.
I just ingested 5 grams about an hour ago and the effect is very similar to that of 10mg of hydrocodone.
If any of you have problems with opiates and I'm sure some of you do or if any of you struggle with pain that goes untreated because of doctors unwillingness to prescribe narcotic pain medication this just might be the alternative you've been looking for.  As with any over the counter or under the counter things do your homework.  I'm not pushing this on anyone, just putting an alternative out there for folks who may need an alternative. Remember, as with any substance that you consume you are responsible for whatever you might want to use. Even prescription medications from a doctor YOU are responsible for whether you take it or not and whether or not you abuse it.

You're welcome. Sylvia found a site where it's MUCH less expensive than the typical headshop. I have to warn you that it tastes really nasty, but in capsules it's just another capsule. I have some empty capsules that hold about 0.5 grams and they're 0 size.  I imagine that you can get 00's or larger,  000's to hold a gram or so. I doubt many people want to swallow 10 or 15 capsules at a shot, but it beats the hell out of withdraw symptoms and having to buy on the black market when you run out.

Strom, check out https://www.kratomparadise.com/ prices are great and from what I can tell they have a great online reputation. Just ordered over 200 grams for $41. The stuff I bought earlier today at a local headshop was 30 grams for $35. From all I can tell from various forums and opinions out there their quality is excellent and the price can't be beat.
It's LEGAL AND effective. I took the 5 grams back about 2 o'clock and it's still kicking.. I might have to adjust my dosage down a tad..

Interesting.  I will have to look into this.  Because of the digitization of medical records the government recently caught up with my mother-in-law, who had been abusing opiates for 30 years because of pain issues.  In her case they apparently did damage to her nerves, actually causing pain or something like that.  Anyway, she's been black-listed from prescription opiates and had horrible withdraws a few months ago.  But she does have real pain issues.  And I have a friend who has had nearly constant migraines for years, too.  Definitely worth looking into.  Thanks.

Bought the Kratom

Got the Kratom from Kratom Paradise- came by mail like really fast.

Took some @ 10:15 MST for my bursitis.

Bitter if taken orally, not as bad as Peyote buttons.

Actually not much has happened. Took altogether at this point less than half a teaspoon, so I can't say whether I took enough or not. The bursitis in my shoulders has lessened somewhat. About 1:20 while sitting here I felt a bit of a rush, but nothing like a drug rush. A little sensation in my extremities as well. Nothing like a high, but there is a slight sense of well being not previously there.

Stuff was cheap- I got a 100g bag of Red Bali and they threw in a 10g bag of Red Maeng Da, all for $24. The people at Kratom Paradise were very courteous with some questions I asked and the shipment got here like in 3 days flat, pretty good. I am going to get some capsules to put it in for a more measured dose, and do some experimenting. We shall see.

Got some 00 size capsules to put the Kratom in. Turns out my dosage was actually pretty small- about 1-0 size. I can concur that it is a mood elevator and it does have some analgesic affect. It also seems to be an appetite suppressant to some extent.

Took the Red Maeng Da sample this morning, 2 00 capsules, which is a fair sized dose. I think 1 00 size capsule is plenty. Definite mood elevator, gives me some energy as well. Not like an amphetamine type high at all, more just a kind of loose, happy feel. Definitely like this. Will buy more of the Red Maeng Da. This is good stuff. Feel energetic and want to get out and do things.

I don't get much analgesic effect but the overall feeling is very good. Stuff is stronger than I thought. If you use it, work up a dose starting with 0 size capsules. You can get the gel caps at a health food store, they are not expensive. I'd say the product is well worth the money. Spend some time studying the Kratom Paradise website and maybe experimenting a little. At the dosage I expect to take, 100 g will last quite awhile, all for from $24 to $27 and they deliver very quickly.

Not long. Narconon- the Scientology faux anti drug scam- has already labeled it dangerous with a bunch of negative effects that don't exist in real life.

They have.  I saw an article about it the other day and I just found another article today about an FDA seizure of the drug.  I was thinking "natural remedy" for pain, but it's a whole lot more than that.  It's actually a powerful, possibly addictive drug which won't suit my purposes.

Also there is the fact that quality/strength of the drug apparently varies widely. The effects I got were mild, but other comments I've seen range to pretty strong. Some say no effect at all. Either people are buying bogus drugs or the physiology of a user greatly changes the effect. Not sure at this point that I would buy any more, other than for experimentation. IMO without some form of quality verification it would be hard to determine the usefulness of the drug overall.

It is unfortunately common with natural or herbal remedies, that the strength varies a lot (so I have read).  Not just with this one.  There has been a problem with mail-order remedies also, concerning ingredients not on the label ... if you know what I mean.  This alas, is why we have an FDA.

Thinking of buying a few kilos. A kilo from KP is about $140. If it does become illegal to buy I want some around.
I was definitely having problems with withdraw before kratom,  but it got me through it just fine.  I'm perfectly able to go several days without kratom with zero ill effects so the stuff about it being addictive is basically bullshit. It's no more addictive than morning coffee,  but there are always some people who will freak out about anything and go overboard.  Hell, I might just order up several kilos and keep it vacuum sealed till I need it.  I'd much rather have the use of kratom available than have to go fucking beg a doctor for known addictive opiates. Right now it's legal so if I have several kilograms stored away I'll be set and I damned sure wouldn't go telling local law enforcement I have it.
