People like Putin because he's taken on a rugged masculine image and he unapologetic about it.  In fact, he makes sure everyone sees it and uses it to his political advantage.  Sure, he's definitely not a good man, but he's pretty damn good at being manly.  Men admire him because they want to be manly like him, and women like him for other reasons.  Have you ever wondered why women go for the cocky assholes?  It's a primal thing.
Trump pales in comparison to Putin's bad-ass image and probably wants to be more like him, just a little bit.

All men are bad .... just ask a feminist ;-)  But Bad can be Good .. if you know what I mean.  Hell yes ... most men ... even straight men, will prefer Putin over Trump.  If you don't like it ... go to the gym more often ;-)

Putin is a strong leader, and republicans like that.

Hitler was also a strong leader.

Yeah, so was Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia.

If only Hitler had been more successful, then Sweden could have continued to be the lackey of the Nazis.  I knew a guy who was a sailor in the Atlantic US Navy in WW II.  We were just weeks away from bombing Stockholm and invading them.

Today if Sweden has a problem it is their open door policy.  But then maybe that is enough to make them socialist (on top of everything else they do that repudiates the American Way).
The open door policy, and their generous welfare program.  Both of them together is what's doing the damage.

Fortunately his blood line continues in the British royal family since King Edward VIII.  The wife of King George V ... was his descendent by two of his sons.  Prince Charles is quite proud of it.  So expect the current royals to be quite ... stern with their subjects.

The word "austere" comes to mind...

Only when the blood bank is empty ... austere = pale

Perhaps give the peasants a good ... bitting ... instead of a good thrashing ;-)  Hickies for everyone!

I had to investigate my family bloodline, to see if I am a distant descendant of Vlad. We're all connected at one point if you go back far enough, much like how everyone says they are connected to Charlemagne. And while I know I am descended from eleanor of aquitaine, theres no connection made with old Vlad, a least not in the far reaches of ancestry found of my line.
Both a little glad and little disappointed, being related to one of europes most bloody murderers would be both fascinating and creepy.

I think humans have invented such monsters as Dracula, the Wolf man, gods and devils, etc., simply because we can't stand being the most evil bastards in existence.

Wow, according to this, Putin has $70 billion! Trump's a lightweight, at only $4.5 billion. No wonder they love each other so...

Maybe, but I dunno, its like the reason why people invent horror monsters today, characters like jason, michael myers, hannibal lecter or jigsaw, or creepypastas like the rake, slenderman or mr bear, its because people like to be scared, and inventing characters that instill that kind of fear in people is both fun and in a way healthy (fear being a drive).

Dracula, the mummy and Frankenstein are just the early examples of what people today think up in horror movies and modern campfire stories.

True.  But the monsters are often thinly-veiled metaphors for real-life social ills.  The vampire is the foreigner come to suck on your daughters' neck (if you know what I mean).  Witches are women who don't know their place and bring calamity down on the village.  Zombies are the brain-addled consumerist hordes.  Frankenstein's monster is the hubris of science.  And demons are simply other religions' gods.

Horror is based on fear.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of the other.  Fear of harm/death.  The monsters are invented in order to explore these fears.

PR126 ... I can summarize without silly video-bots ...

Socialism - stupid apes
Capitalism - stupid apes
Monarchism - stupid apes
Republicanism - stupid apes

So to summarize political-economics ... stupid apes.
Planet of the Apes (original version) was real, we are the fakes.
Don't you have an oppressed S American country to terrorize? ;-)  Blackadder indeed ;-))

Yeah, Trump's got much fewer $billion$ than Putin, and would like to have more than him.
