In a weird sort of way, I actually approve of this poor management of funds.  Every dollar that they fritter away on lavish apartments is one less dollar to be spend on regressive politicking.  Though, obviously, the best solution is to simply not give these hucksters and crooks money in the first place.

As posted elsewhere today ...

The Vatican has been in financial scandal since the late 1970s.  And the first purpose of any organization, is to cover up any scandal ... which is why they were so ineffective in dealing with pedophiles.

A. JP posted first, so the rule in the past has been to combine threads into one, first poster getting the nod.

B. Lets see....corrupt institution founded centuries ago that has had virtually no oversight now viewed with a critical eye found to be a corrupt institution. Well I'm shocked.

Yeah, you'd think that after watching the TV series The Borgias, you'd think people would know better...

The Italians can defend their reputation, by noting that the Borgias are actually Spanish in origin.
