This is pathetic.  Universities are supposed to be places where free thought, and challenges to ideas are championed. FFS....

jonb - Bomber Command and USAAF did lots of damage, but it took lots of boots on the ground, mostly Russian, to actually stop Hitler.

The beginning of universities dates back to the Middle Ages

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University

Anything that stifles either academic freedom or the ability to speak out against what is perceived as wrong or a social injustice should not be allowed. Universities traditionally are the places that philosophers, scientists and men of learning do their business and give us the knowledge that moves us forward. Anything that dumbs it down is wrong.

The problem is that places of higher learning are mostly funded by big corporations. That makes these places vulnerable. Students complain, the administration fears the loss of funding, the teachers are told to toe the line. As in anything, money rules. The way out would be full funding from the government, but Americans are averse in getting their government too involved - this is how the elites of the Republicans party keeps the blue collar workers voting for the GOP, even though this party doesn't have the best interests of the blue collar workers at heart. The government is the beast that must be starved. That leaves the big corporations to decide: who you vote for, what is taught to your kids, and so on.

True the idea of winning wars from the air has never worked but those in control have an evangelical belief in it.
It seems useless to mention to them that their now more accurate bombs are more expensive than the things they even now only sometimes hit.

How is anyone going to learn anything new and revealing If new input is not considered? Colleges are trying to leap people in the dark If this is true. At least the higher ups anyway.

Bombers are pretty useless if they get shot out of the sky.

I would not worry, still enough get through to hit hospitals.

A problem with bombing .. when high up, the people look just like indistinguishable ants .. and we know what boys do to ant nests.

Ideas should not be censored. If an idea is so obviously false and out of touch then it will either be recognisable as such or easy to argue against.

Social Justice Warriors that seek to stamp out any dissenting ideas are, hilariously, not far off from being hate groups.
