I bought the book because I went to a seminar put on by an accountant about social security. He praised the book highly and said by all means to get it. And boy, I'm glad I did.

I'm halfway through this book and I know more about social security in 3 days reading than I ever dreamed. It also explains how complicated it is and all the myriad ways you can get screwed by not knowing how to navigate the system. It gives all the ins and outs of marriage benefits, survivor benefits and how and when to apply, etc.

An example: If you apply for social security on your year of full eligibility- for most, 66- and suspend payment until 70, you will earn 8% more per year-32%- when you end the suspension. We have a few people on here the right age.  The book is available on PDF through Amazon/kindle. Even if you are older I would highly recommend it, because it explains how you can get benefits from a former spouse after divorce and a host of other stuff. Seriously, get the book.
