Hey guys,

I'm in need of a forum, a place to connect with someone else, somewhere to be challenged, somewhere to muse (because I'm in an unusual place of having literally nobody left in my life, for one reason or another all hitting within a short period), somewhere to continue to explore our existence.

In my experience atheist fora are the best place to find the sort of culture I'm looking for, and I really hope it's going to be a good relationship between us. I don't know why I picked this one, it just felt right at the time.

I guess, roughly, these days one could describe me as Pantheist(ish) but that's a fluid concept to to me and I'm far from certain over my theological understanding.

Anyway, that's a bit about me.

Edit: I just blinged my profile, came back and saw the Primoridial ooze tag :D

Ps.. my typos have become out of control over the last year, so by all means Grammar-Nazi the hell out of my posts to get me back to speed. ;)

Hi Jobey.

Always good to have a differing opinion basis on another level, we don't have many here outside the range of atheist and agnostic, but we have a few, so it makes for interesting topics.

Welcome on board, hope you get something good out of it here.

Hey Munch, cheers for the welcome..

My theological position is flakey (ex buddhist/christian/newager/whatever), so I'm not even sure that Pantheist fits my outlook.. but it's the best thing I can place when I'm not an atheist by choice, not a theist by birth/culture, and I suppose someone who took a lot of psychedelics and went off into that region of the psyche.

Over the years I found something surrounding the debate of god/life/ and all that has an appeal to something inside me, though, even if I don't lay claim to a set position these days.

The overarching truth, for me, is that I haven't a clue if there's a god or not and if there is I'm pretty firm in a belief that it's not a religious god, but I like the topics that surround it none-the-less.

I hope, too, to bring something useful among my madness. Fora are two-way.

As far as I am concerned the more viewpoints the better and the more light is shone on a subject.
Good to have you around. I sure we will enjoy an argument or two.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent,
Is he able but not willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able or willing?
Then why call him god?

There seems a lively group of minds knocking about already after just a few hrs of mooching.. I could do with a bit of that right now. I've literally just had a year of having nobody intellectually honest to talk to! I feel those days are over again.

Meh, back when I was an atheist (only.. say 18 months ago), and modding an atheist forum before that, we used to have double-baby sandwiches with our coffee before picking-on & banning any christians we could find that were burning our ears with the truth of the lord (because we didn't want to hear it of course).

I'm sorry, I went off on a little past thing in my head for a moment there :eyes:

Anyway, now I've settled on Pantheist I just eat cute kittens with a side-order of hamsters, and as we all know you and I are going to burn forever anyway regardless of our the worldly diet so... see ya down there ;)

Blimey that's quite a mix! One day I'll ask you to explain how you've reconciled that lot!

Well, I can see it's going to be a mind-expanding (and typo-improving) time here.

Cheers guys, I really wasn't expecting any replies in this thread but it's really nice to get a few.
