Holy shit!!! I wonder how long this will last.

I'm hoping until sometime in the mid 2040s, but I'm not holding my breath... :wink2:

End of the holiday season. It'll go up again come winter.

Wow :O. Just a year and a half ago I was paying nearly $3.80 or so for gas.

It's still 2.19 here, but it is just getting lower and lower. I never thought I would see gas in the $1s again in my life time, but who knows?

I was in Montana last week, and it was more like 2.75 there, but those people seemed happy about it too.  I'm assuming the national average is higher than 1.99.  When I was a kid, 29 cents a gallon was the going rate I remember, and you would get a set of free glasses with a fill up.  Not only that, but an attendant pumped your gas, checked your oil, and tire pressure.  And the cost of gas stayed in the 29 to 35 cent range for 20 years.

A few months ago we had $1.599 gas for a day or so.

When I negotiated my current gas allowance it was at 3.68, now its around 2.15, nobody has said anything about it, so putting in about 4,000 miles a month is like a bonus now.

Still paying over $3, here.

It's down to 1.59 in NJ, and still 2.69 in MI. Last time I filled up, it was 2.99. The prices are so crazy unstable.

I know there are plenty of people older than me here on this forum (I'm 29), but when I was 16 and my mom let me borrow her car, it was .98 cents a gallon for my first tank of gas. Cost me $10 for her little Honda. I never saw it under a dollar again.

When I finally bought my own car a year later, gas prices really started to go up thanks to all that shit in Iraq. I remember thinking "Who could afford to drive at all if gas is $1.59?!"

Ah, naiveté.
How can you be sure my refusal to agree with your claim a symptom of my ignorance and not yours?

Will this ever date me!  The lowest price I ever paid for a gallon of gas was .19 in Portland, Oregon.  Those were the days! :)))

Yeah, I ran into a local gas war in Billings, Montana and remember that too.

Good. I've been drinking gas like water... as water really.
