Tunisia will be shutting down some 80 Mosques believed to be inciting violence after the recent attack on a holiday beach resort.
QuoteTunisia's Prime Minister Habib Essid has announced a clampdown on security after an attack on a holiday resort in which 38 people were killed.
He said army reservists would be deployed to archaeological sites and resorts.
About 80 mosques accused of "spreading venom" will close within a week, he said.
Fifteen of the victims in Friday's attack near Sousse were Britons. The gunman was shot dead.
He was identified as Seifeddine Rezgui, a student not previously known to authorities, officials said.
One Belgian and one German have so far been identified among the dead, the health ministry said. One citizen of the Irish Republic is also confirmed dead.
There were also thought to be Tunisians and French killed in the attack, which was claimed by Islamic State (IS). At least 36 people are injured, some seriously.
It was the second major attack on tourists in Tunisia since March, when militants killed 22 people, mainly foreigners, at Bardo museum in Tunis.

I sure hope this catches on everywhere. I'm sick of religion as being a Sacred Cow that can't be touched by the hand of decency and common sense.
There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.

Good, but I wonder how long till Isis steps in and 'takes revenge' for this sacrament to their God.

The world will be a better place if more religious monuments are torn down.

Willing to take responsibility for radicalism? OK, let's say that could be the result. But it is actually about trying to save the tourism from taking a swan dive. Because if there isn't a real life reason behind it noone would lift a finger either way. Not because they supported it before, but because reality doesn't work that way.

By golly, if I was a betting man I'd swear you're making the implication that the mosques are being shut down to keep the tourist dollars or pounds flowing whilst not really doing another goddamn thing much like taking down the confederate flag in South Carolina. . Oh yeah. .post racial society all the way baby!

Admit it. You're secretly green with envy.

There's no shame in admitting that the flow of money is a good incentive to crack down on bad behavior. Progress has to start somewhere.

Fact is the country needs it tourism trade to work so it can function, so between surviving or appease religious groups, I know what I would go for to.

The thing is is that shutting down mosques isn't an admission of anything other than the tourist trade is more important. .

And it is, a lot more. Some countries need tourism, what it doesn't need are religious houses that give nothing back but create violent martyrs

I don't get what is so surprising about this. It always works this way.

Anyway, I also don't get why muslims have to take responsibility for islamic radicalism. Which muslims? Which radical grup? Where? How? By what means?

For example, do Americans feel they should take responsbility for the atrocities comitted by the US army and international policies they created in anywhere around the world? No. Average American thinks the body count of the last invasions is a couple of hundred thousands.

Would any Americans be able to change something if they tried? No.

What would an American have to do to take responsbility about the terrorism the US created around the world? Any example? None.

Are you going to tell me that American war policies are secular? Or that it is for spreading freedom and democracy? We could perfectly call that Christian terrorism. If you are powerful enough, your means of agression and destruction is 'legal', if not, you have people to brainwash and strap bombs on. This is not about some religion. It's high time people should get this. At least our free thinking 'sceptics'.

Muslims are exactly like Americans and other people around the world. They are humans. They just run for their lives, try to save their families when something happens in the area they live or feel lucky if nothing bad happens. If they could prevent it, they would for their own sake. How is that you people cannot get this? I feel lucky for now. If something happens here, I'll try to run and protect myself. If I can't, I will die like humans do often. These things happen eveywhere. People die.

So if you think that there should be someone taking responsibility for something this huge and dangerous which they have no involvement in, you are either watching too much Hollywood movies or you are living in a fantasy bullshit you have been fed. Delusion.  Waiting for Ironman to save the day?

People seeing themselves or their position above reality or untouchable by that human reality or out of it is just so ridiculous, I have no idea what to say. Get down to earth. You are not above or special or different from anyone living anywhere on the planet.
