Probably nebulous, any title would be misleading

Nothing quite like a starry eyed theist full of gospel fire getting their reality stomped on by the facts.

It's funny too. I'm used to page after page of straight up misconception after misconception on CF. But here it doesn't get that far. Gotta stomp out a forest fire early.

You argue with a god of death?

We all make bad decisions.

Unfortunately sometimes the mods get fed up early and they are booted before full damage is done. The really dense ones that don't get it are referred to as chew toys, which is pretty accurate.

Which actually reminds me. That Givemeareason character?? Wha-- why? I've seen loopy before but he's a real piece of work.

QuoteSo this is how I think the events of my conversions are taking place:
-Christianity
-Progressive Judaism
-Deism
-Agnosticism
-Implicit Atheism
-Explicit Atheism
-Existential nihilism
-It really doesn't matter. I'm not sure what I am, and I'm probably not bothered really

I like to call Deism a way-station on the road to atheism. Usually people don't seem to be Deists very long.

Of course, a person can be many things at once, as long as they don't contradict. One can be a stamp-collecting Keynesian Hindu lacrosse player who enjoys Peking opera. With regard to atheism: if you respond to the question "Do you believe in deity?" with anything other than an affirmative reply, you're an atheist. You can also be an agnostic, a nihilist, an anti-theist, a chess player, a film noir buff, etc., but that's all window-dressing as far as atheism is concerned.

He seems to be a non-troll, troll.  He likes to argue with himself, and often loses.  Trying to pin him down is like trying to catch a drunk butterfly without a net.

If you start from Salt Lake City and go towards Idaho Falls, then you cannot go to Elko. If you go to Elko, then you cannot go to Richfield. I went towards atheism. There may be many roads branching out from there, but none takes me back to theism. (Just a simile)
"Brahma Satyam Jagan-mithya" (Brahman is the truth, the observed is an illusion)
"Sarve Khalu Idam Brahma" (All this here is Brahman)

And none should take you toward theism.  But who would want to go to Elko anyway???? :))))

This is true. I had my few moments with deism, then my mind was like "stop this madness. it's time. you're ready"_ and the thoughts just came gushing in so greatly with that force.

You know how I can't really put to words the epic brilliance of the moment.

I now surprise myself by the great amount of eye rolling I do when theists begin to be all mountain moving with that spiritual nonsense. Especially with Christianity, I probably burn a few calories from rolling my eyes so hard on that topic. Ah, but not as much when the baader meinhof phenomenon interrupts me with those cute jewish terms even during basic  diurnal activities. It's quite a nightmare trying to execute all those now irrelevant hebrew prayers & benedictions from my brain, pretty messed up.

Sure, I think as far as atheism and many other independent forms of 'isms' are concerned, it definitely would be considered window dressing. Even I consider it that, esp if people are going to be a retail store about it.

I dunno, after all, what is god, but a few letters.

Hahahaha... you are a real piece of work too.  A god of death! :-)  I am just a nonconforming free thinker.  That opens lots of doors.  And I have been stuck defending religion way more than I like too.  It seems hating religion is sort of like therapy around here.
I am a Hard Athiest.  I am thought provoking inwardly and outwardly.  I am a nonconforming freethinker.

Wait a minute.  I thought you were Hindu.  Doesn't that make you a theistic athiest?

Why is this thing messing with me?  Please see question above.
