mainethinker, thanks for the information! How can I know who is telling the truth, and it's not just propaganda from either side? Solitary
There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.

The truth of the matter is that in all reality there's no way of actually knowing the truth about anything that's why we must remain skeptical of everything not just religion but politics, and scientific theory and news we can't just cherry pick what were skeptical about that would make us just as bad as the rest of them

I agree, but we shouldn't think we are correct in believing in any source of information that is emotionally loaded, like religion or politics. And the news can be biased also. At least most science is based on facts, not just opinion. I do think when cosmologists and other scientists say the universe came out of nothing, they are being ridiculous and biased by the idea of Creation. Solitary

One more thing North Korea is not a communist state its socialist which is kind of the middle ground socialism is like communism light and socialism isn't really a bad thing in fact America is kind of heading towards socialism state with socialized healthcare and Canada has a healthcare system that is kind of socialist..

Well what I meant by be skeptical of scientific theory I meant like stuff that is theoretical like certain types of theoretical physics and so on I'm not talking about like chemical reactions and stuff like that

I personally believe in Democratic Socialism. There has to be in place a way to keep socialism from becoming a dictatorship, and or democracy from becoming a fascist regime though, or an oligarchy like it seems to be now in the USA with money and Christianity calling the shots.  How is North Korea not a dictatorship? There are elections in North Korea. Not for the position of supreme Field Marshal but for the lower positions in the government like the local provinces and so on

The short guy in the middle is North Korean. They deliberately send the short ones so we will be fooled into thinking the whole country isn't suffering from malnutrition.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korean_defectors#South_Korea

QuoteMore than 26,000 people have escaped left North Korea for South Korea since the 50's
South Korea's Ministry of Unification is a government organization that is in charge of preparing for a future reunification between North and South Korea. It is responsible for North-South relations including economic trade, diplomacy, and communication, and education of reunification, which involves spreading awareness in schools and among the public sphere. The Ministry of Unification is thus the main organization that manages North Korean defectors in South Korean territory by establishing admission processes and resettlement policies. It also has regional sub-organs called Hana Center within the ministry that helps defectors in their day-to-day life for a more smooth transition into the South Korean society.[40] The number of defectors since the 1950-1953 Korean War is more than 26,000.[11]

And China
QuoteAs of 2012 there were an estimated 200,000 North Koreans hiding in China.[14] making them the largest population outside of North Korea. These refugees are not typically considered to be members of the ethnic Korean community, and the Chinese census does not count them as such. Some North Korean refugees who are unable to obtain transport to South Korea marry ethnic Koreans in China and settle there; they blend into the community but are subject to deportation if discovered by the authorities. Those who have found 'escape brokers', try to enter the South Korean consulate in Shenyang. In recent years, the Chinese government has tightened the security and increased the number of police outside the consulate.

Must've been brainwashed by the West's media. Oh wait, the West's media is censored.

I might point out that people do not escape leave a country that is a veritable utopia. You don't for example, see people sneaking into Mexico from the US.

Prison camps in North Korea
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisons_in_North_Korea

QuoteThe internment camps for people accused of political offences or denounced as politically unreliable are run by the State Security Department. Political prisoners are subject to guilt by association punishment. They are deported with parents, children and siblings, and sometimes even grandparents or grandchildren, without any lawsuit or conviction, and are detained for the rest of their lives.[17]

The internment camps are located in central and northeastern North Korea. They comprise many prison labour colonies in secluded mountain valleys, completely isolated from the outside world. The total number of prisoners is estimated to be 150,000 to 200,000.[18] Yodok camp and Bukchang camp are separated into two sections: One section for political prisoners in lifelong detention, another part similar to re-education camps with prisoners sentenced to long-term imprisonment with the vague hope of eventual release.

Oh yes, and Kim Jong whatsis, son of Kim Jong the other guy, was elected by a democratic vote. For like 2 generations. Now that is democracy.

Oh I forgot. Western propaganda.

In short, regardless of your videos, the preponderance of evidence is more than sufficient to consider North Korea a punitive police state. You are either the stupidest person to ever post on this forum or a total poe, which is the same thing.

mainethinker

There is elections for who leads the country but not for field marshal but who leads the country is also the field marshal it's very hard to explain and people have voted Kim Jong un I'm not even going to respond to this person above me cuz they're clearly pushing an agenda against me its funny how anyone who skeptical about a subject like this is suddenly accused of being either crazier or a so-called POE or troll or something... What happens is that people who live in North Korea know that they can commit crime and avoid the consequences of their crime by leaving the country and accusing the country of bad things because escaping justice by going to South Korea is next to impossible because the DMZ is very locked up. So they have to go to China but China is an ally of North Korea so they not only have to escape from North Korea they also have to avoid authorities in China and then escape from China and go to another country and tell whatever lies that they think will get them refugee status in whatever country they go to China deport people back to North Korea all the time. And the photo you posted at the top is very deceptive alright those two other men are like six feet tall the Asian man on the left is what they call a rock soldier google it they find the tallest men to stand like statues on the South Korean side of the DMZ to intimidate the North Korean soldiers and they also have very tall soldiers from the US to so my guess that the North Korean soldier in the center is probably about 5 feet tall.. There are prison camps the key word is prison you commit a crime you go to a prison camp now I know that America's idea of a prison is a little box where you sit in a room and get to watch cable TV and masturbate all day but another countries when you commit a crime you actually have to work back a long time ago in America prisoners actually used to do s*** like they used to go clean up trash and cut grass along the highway and stuff but not anymore because that seen as inhumane or whatever people seem to confuse prison camps with concentration camps there are NO concentration camps and there is plenty of food I can post videos showing fast places I can post a video showing pizza places hamburger place is hot dog places street vendors hot dog sales vendors candy production fishing do you know how much fish and other seafood is in the sea off of the Korean peninsula thousands of thousands and thousands of fish in fact those are the most heavily fish areas of that whole region all this stuff about feminine and stuff is from the 1990 s when there was a serious drought. Back in the nineties there is a really bad famine and trout and all kinds of other stuff. BBut it's not the f****** nineties anymore things have snapbacks since then

Try a little punctuation, it helps.

For the record I worked for the US Air force for 28 years. One of the people I worked with was a Master Sergeant with a Korean wife. She told us stories about Korea and the defectors from the North, some of whom she knew. You can easily tell who the defectors are because they are all smaller in stature than the South Koreans. That is from generational malnutrition. There are thousands of accounts of malnutrition, prison camps and horrific mistreatment of the people. Like I said, preponderance of evidence.

The government of North Korea is a dictatorship, period. Any voting done is a scam for western eyes. North Korea is a closed society. You don't have a closed society if there are good things to report. People don't defect from a utopian or even a healthy society. People from North Korea have defected to Pakistan- that is how bad it is.

Seriously, your shit is weak. go back to your basement, suck your thumb and cry on mommy's shoulder. This is a forum for intelligent people. You can't even punctuate a sentence. go away, you are annoying. And i'm done, idiot. I got better shit to do.

I highly question any country that has excessive travel restrictions on visitors and routinely denies the media access at all. It's like going to somebody's house and having them follow you all over the place including the bathroom... extreme paranoia. What are they scared of? Fear of interaction with people without North Korean indoctrination?
