  THIS KIND?
I saw a guy doing that once. We were right where I-8 joins I-10, or somewhere in Hell's bargain basement if you don't know Arizona. Summertime, no less. He was trucking along the highway with that big-ass cross on his shoulder.

Then he lost all credibility with me. He had a roller skate attached to the nether end. Wussy.

This is what my right arm looks like. Not from weight lifting but working as a welder, hoisting heavy I beams.

Also a big scar where they (unsuccessfully) operated on it.

And no, never took steroids.

I've always been into aesthetics as a teenager, and when I saw Steve Reeves I wanted to look like him because he was so symmetrical and looked good. Body building is producing freaks now, and it is a shame, just like it is with girls or woman that have breast augmentation and plastic surgery, or Botox that look like mannequins. I can understand women and girls wanting to be beautiful, or men and boys wanting to look good, because it is attractive, like anything that is nice to look at. All of this is from greedy jerks that could care less about others health, or their own. It's so shallow to put looks above health. There is a big difference between weight lifting to see how strong you can get and body building to look good and be healthy.

The top picture is of Steve Reeves who was my idol as a teenager, He was 6'1", and I was 5'10", but I looked just like him in the picture when I was a teen ager. Because he starred in the Hercules movie at the time, I was called the miniature Hercules. They next picture is where body building is now with steroids---what kind of person wants to look like that? The next picture is one of a female body builder on steroids---isn't she great looking?  :oak:  For you young guys, men who take steroids  have very small penises, and women who do have a clitoris that looks like a small penis.  :surprised:

I lifted weights and worked out regularly when I was a firefighter because of shit like hauling smoking refrigerators out of basements. Try that some time. Never saw the sense in steroids, Creatine or anything else, and when my sons got to that age I seriously counseled against it. They both have martial arts skills because I paid for it. My oldest son was serious about Muai Thai for awhile, but has a family and a daughter due in January, so no time for it.

I blew my arm years ago. I can't lift weights unless I want to look like Popeye on one side and Wimpy on the other. I know a guy that looks exactly like that. I still occasionally do martial arts stuff because that is about speed and dexterity, not weight lifting. I also do abdominals and stretching exercises. I hate that that happened to me and it messed up my life, but I'm unaware presently of any fix, so I live with it.

And that is the image everyone has of the prototypical firefighter, rescuing the burning refrigerator from the basement.. You probably just said fuck rescuing babies..THERE'S FOOD IN REFRIGERATORS!

I know what you mean, try getting a cast iron bath tub up a stairs. I also know what you mean having to live with it, getting old messed up my life, and there is no fix for that either, and just have to live with it or die. Isn't God great with all his love for us?

Lol, I've done that too. Helped a friend haul a cast iron tub up a flight of steps. I used to do a lot of stupid shit, like the I beam lifting thing as a welder. I blew my arm because I tried to catch a beam that fell off of the forklift. Don't do that. Felt/heard a "pop" in my arm. Wasn't really that painful, but blew the entire lower bicep tendon like snapping a rubber band.

Used to be Joe Mighty. I once helped a friend install a rear end on his 4X4 by crawling under it and hoisting the rear end into place while he bolted it in. That is why I advise people to think with their brain and not their ego. I lost a lot when I lost my arm, and I've paid for it.

I think, kind of like drugs, if a body builder uses steriods in moderation and doesn't go overboard with it, its not as evil as people make out.
Its only when bodybuilders overuse it and it becomes obvious they are doing it, with health issues, that it needs stop.

Two such examples, in who i looked up information on, are two of my fav gay porn stars, Carlo Masi and Vince Ferelli, the later who had a guest body appearance in the second 300 movie due to his size.

to me, this is fine, I love big guys anyway, but neither of them have had any health related issues to times when they bulk up, and vince has even discussed the use of steriods as a means to achieve a look your going for, one he says he's happy with.
And honestly, if men feel happy in this, the same as guys who smoke pot or any drugs, if there remain healthy despite it then I don't have an issue with them doing so.

Its just when it turns into this I have a problem with it.

I'll go along with that, but if you don't have enough male hormone to begin with, steroids will make it worst when you quit.

yeah true. i think theres been some movie stars who have had to take steriods to bulk up for certain roles, and been able to work with it, coming off it once the role is over with.

Long term steroid abuse, like with certain drugs, shows on people over time.
