Looking forward to this one.  I thought the first Avengers was one of the best superhero movies I've seen.  I think that may have been the influence of Joss Whedon, who I think is one of the top director's today.  He stands above the others at making an ordinary cinematic spectacular interesting, as well as spectacular.  He raises the bar for film making, even though he's much underused.

Edit:  and it looks like they are calling him back for the sequel.
