If I were watch it, I would most likely be laughing, rolling on the floor, and I might end up with a heart attack or a stroke. So, I'll pass... for now...

Kevin Sorbo can act?
As far as the cast goes, Sorbo seemed more comfortable in the role than the others, who mostly seemed rather stilted.  The student did a fair job, I think.

There are a couple of scenes where Sorbo is seen with the other faculty members of the philosophy department, who are all portrayed as those automated bobble heads continually nodding in agreement to the effect that "God is indeed dead."  That struck me as the most egregious stereotyping of the whole movie, and suggests writing and direction by people who are obviously convinced of their victim status as a persecuted minority.  Why the attack specifically on members of philosophy departments is puzzling to say the least.  Is it just some idiosyncratic perception of the writers?  It was weird, and one of things I rolled eyes over.

I was forced to watch this movie and it made me sick.

Were you held at gunpoint?

And the girl who played the professor's wife, really nailed the Christian wife Mormon quality sweetness, actually with aplomb, and she never broke character, even as she was humiliating her husband or dumping him in front of his peers.  Of course, he deserved it, because he really was a prick.  Then she ran off to the concert.  LOL

He wants me to be Christian mainly because of my mom, who is convinced that I'l burn for all eternity, he also thinks that I'm going through a phase where I'm just trying to rebel against society via atheism

I always find it such a laughable perplexity with how Christians think if you believe in ANYTHING besides their beliefs your going to burn in hell. If you said you believed in the devil it might make sense for them to think that, but believing in nothing even related to any theism excludes the belief in hell itself, but they can't understand that.

no. my mother pretty much dragged me there. But hey at least she paid for it.

You know afterwards she said to me that I cant possibly be an atheist. She bought every thing about this crappy movie. Not only that but the audience gave it a standing ovation. Made me angry and sick that so many people are this dumb.

Oh, well that explains it.  Did you at least get popcorn?  And yes, people are THAT stupid.

I think this just puts to one step higher in terms of awesome, since you can endure being in that kind of place, forced to see that shit, and be in that kind of mindless crowd of sheep without losing it.

As I said, this is how Christians will see atheists, which honestly I don't care how they see us, they are a group of people whos whole belief is based on judgement and percussion of others.

I think watching the movie with both parents and laughing at the ridiculous parts will teach them something they won't learn any other way.

Sad part is they might then look to jesus camp at the next possible solution.

My mom's the more religious one, my dad's just trying to support her wishes because of you know, reasons.

He wishes I would learn more about it, because he thinks it would be good for me and such.

Tell him you have learned about it, tell him you have developed an analytically mind in that you question things told to you, and that you questioned the contradictions in the bible until you came to the conclusion it was all bunk.
And tell him your beliefs and what you understand doesn't change who you are, just on your view of the world.

Kevin Sorbo is a fucking goldmine.
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/09/kevin-sorbo-explains-why-more-christian-movies-arent-made-jews-run-hollywood/

QuoteActor Kevin Sorbo, who is promoting the DVD release of the movie “God’s Not Dead,” offered a simple explanation for why more Christian-themed movies aren’t released.

The former star of TV’s “Hercules” series discussed the movie business, in general, and religious-themed movies, in particular, with conservative Christian broadcaster Peter Heck.

“You always hear that the language of Hollywood is money, and yet there’s something that doesn’t compute, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to talk to you because, man, you’ve hammered home this idea of an agenda that’s out there,” Heck said.

Both Heck and Sorbo agreed that the recent “Noah” film, directed by Darren Aronofsky, was inaccurate and “embarrassing.”

“My wife called it ‘Transformers’ meets ‘Waterworld,’” Sorbo said. “It was such a strange movie.”

The actor, who has recently attacked atheists, blamed Jews for the death of Jesus, and compared black Ferguson protesters to animals, questioned why an atheist would be hired to direct a film version of a biblical story.

“I think next time when they want to do a, you know, character in the Bible, hire at least an agnostic and not an atheist to direct it,” Sorbo said. “I mean, the director is a self-proclaimed atheist.”

He continued with his point, but he stammered and seemed to pull up a bit short as he reached his conclusion.

“I sort of understand how they never want to deal with the New Testament in Hollywood, because it’s pretty much, you know, run by the world of the, um, Jewish population,” Sorbo said, chuckling. “At the same time, at least get someone that has, you know, believes that the potential is there, that it could be a real story.”

I knew it. Its them damn atheist gay jews again.

Wow...

To think, a guy who most people remember playing hercules, ends up not only not thinking there was any realism to Greek myth, but also actually followed the Mel Gibson book of belief.
