Well yeah, it is a deception. Look at how his legs are braced. There is no weight being put on the right foot. The left leg is what's bracing him.

It's a fake.. I've seen a lot of similar pictures, but look at the tree just to his left growing up and the background trees growing sideways? It don't work that way fellas..

The tree is fallen and upturned a lot of ground with its roots.  Like this, just almost perfectly perpendicular with the ground.  A wider shot would've revealed the illusion.  Also, note the leaves.

oh c'mon, its obvious this was an uprooted tree, all the leaves at the base in only one spot? His right hand is helping to hold the jacket from sagging but you can see the gravity pulling the jacket, and the grass in the background you can see its growing towards the sun so the tree is laying down.
