We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

I want to agree with her, but by her logic, we should demolish all sundials after watches were invented or stoves after microwave ovens were invented.  Besides, there might be a situation where shuttlecraft are not available and the bay must be crossed the old fashioned way.

Naah, she is just dumb. Bridges are not just for people driving through. It's also for first responders to any emergency, terrorist or military attack, various laod and cargo carriage.

There are strict military regulations in every country on where to build or not to build a bridge, according to any given location.

I literally trace cropped portions of actual maps of the world from millions of years in the past or projections of millions of years in the future, add rivers and lakes at places that make sense, then put cities near the rivers.

The hardest part is creating national boundaries.  You'd think they'd end at mountains right?  I mean, Spain does that.  Italy sort of does that.  China, Russia and the US...not so much.  Iran...yeah...  It kinda feels like the I before E except after C rule to me.  So now I just use deserts or lakes or dense forests or tundra or something, anything besides mountains to separate countries.  Also, sometimes I pretend to be the british and just draw straight lines right through the geography/ethnic groups and call it a day.  Nothing bad could possibly happen from that, right?

In my seventh year of retirement, I enjoy having a vague idea of what day of the week it is.

I only know what day it is because Sunday is the day I refill my pill caddy.
