Always down for some Homer Hobbit humor. Some nights I dream I live in "The Shire". In reality my feet are too small to pull off a proper hobbit dress. Maybe they sell rubber hairy hobbit feet. I doubt I will ever make it down to Oceania to see the movie set turned tourist trap. There are some great vlogs and the detail is there. Partially underground homes with grass roofing material just make so much sense. Round doors, maybe not so much.

I have seen an actual home with grass roofing, but it was only pictures of it. I don't recall where it was, though, I wish I could remember. It it was dug into the side of a hill, and it looked really nice.

I feel like I live in Rohan half the time with war all around and piss-poor leadership.  What a winning combination.

Partially underground homes with grass roofing material just make so much sense. Round doors, maybe not so much.

I looked into that a little bit.  While it's not a bad idea in concept, underground homes often run into flooding problems.

Hobbit doors should properly have only one hinge or articulated hinges. The articulated ones are iffy as we don't see them on either side of the door to Bag End.

My wife likes to take the tiny crumbs at the bottom of chips/crisps bags and dump them together. She calls them "Frodos".
