I've never been through self-checkout, so I was unaware that there are cashiers there. So I learned something today.

When I work self-checkout, I am typically stressed out, because everybody needs my assistance at once, and our technology sucks ass. You're expected to have eyes on the back of your head. Someone walks away without paying for their beer while your back was turned, helping another customer? That's on you.

They  have at least two cameras watching the SC area here. One of them will get you. If you used a card for most of your purchase you gave them all the ID they needed.
