Soccer is moral Decay

QuoteFor the past two weeks, millions of Americans have crowded into bars and television dens to watch the World Cup. Today, millions of Americans are huddled over their desks, half-working while they watch the USA-Germany World Cup match in the background.

If only they had known that their interest in the tournament was destroying the country they call home. Need evidence? Just ask Fox News staple Ann Coulter, who recently wrote a column arguing that "any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nation's moral decay."

Coulter's case against soccer is far-ranging: it's "foreign," you can't use your hands, liberal moms like it, and it doesn't "present a constant threat of personal disgrace." "If more 'Americans' are watching soccer today, it's only because of the demographic switch effected by Teddy Kennedy's 1965 immigration law," she concludes. "I promise you: No American whose great-grandfather was born here is watching soccer."

I knew you were immoral commies. And you're no longer moral enough to join the army, burn houses, women, children and villages after watching soccer.

Wtf. What does that mean?

I imagine it applies to American's dislike of the prevalence of injury faking

Quote...and it doesn't "present a constant threat of personal disgrace."

I think she is referring to the fact it is a very team oriented sport and therefor if the team falls the personal responsibility isn't as heavy because the team is blamed instead of any one player.

To which all I have to say is... tell that to this guy...

Neymar has pretty much the entire hopes and dreams of the Brasilian people on his back atm to carry a somewhat weak preforming Brasilian side to both greatness as well as trying to revitalize the art form of the older Brasilian teams. Tell me more about how ANY American sport's player is under as much pressure as Neymar is atm... maybe a city, maybe a state, maybe even an entire region... but an entire country who's identity has revolved around soccer for nearly 3/4th a century wanting you to bring back the greatness of old? Fuck that, no American will ever know that pressure.

Its foreign to the us yes, but its also the most popular sport on the planet..
Goalkeepers use their hands and also any player can also when placing the ball for a free kick or penalty and also for a throw in...
Liberal moms like it.....EH?
It doesnt present a constant threat of personal disgrace, wtf does that mean, a sport isnt a real sport unless one person can be blamed if it all goes wrong, this woman is a fkn idiot.

She thinks Americans have a monopoly on disliking injury faking in team sports? I demand biological evidence confirmed by experts that this thing is something close to human. I'm OK with close enough.
Is she trying to say that there never has been any faking of injury in baseball or american football, if thats what she is saying then i repeat. This woman is a fkn idiot
And i wish you Americans would stop calling it Soccer..,. its football , it will always be football....

Okay, I was right... from Culter's page...

QuoteIndividual achievement is not a big factor in soccer. In a real sport, players fumble passes, throw bricks and drop fly balls -- all in front of a crowd. When baseball players strike out, they're standing alone at the plate. But there's also individual glory in home runs, touchdowns and slam-dunks.

In soccer, the blame is dispersed and almost no one scores anyway. There are no heroes, no losers, no accountability, and no child's fragile self-esteem is bruised. There's a reason perpetually alarmed women are called "soccer moms," not "football moms."

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a candidate for most ignorant statement to ever have been posted on the internet, at least on the topic of soccer. It's like she took what the average American thinks about soccer and then injected it with Ameria-roids while singing the Star Spankled Banner in a Star's Striped Bikini and shooting an Ar-15 into their air with a bible in her hand for the glory of gay-hating, sinner-condemning Jesus.

WTF?!

Americans generally do like soccer.  It's not as popular as basketball or football, but it's definitely up there.

It is becoming more popular because little kids aren't getting racked up and their knees blown out, like can happen in American football. (sorry Green ) Lacrosse is also growing in popularity for the same reason, since it is basically soccer with baskets. I have a grandson who was his school's quarterback. He elected to switch to Lacrosse because of the toll football took on his body.

I kindly invite Ann Coulter to go fuck herself (because nobody else will). I played soccer in high school. Yeah, I had zero talent and even less athletic ability, but I still had a blast.

That's it. Insulting Ann Coulter is just unamerican and you should be ashamed of yourselves and Ann Coulter can just go fuck herself. But you should still be ashamed because... Well, just because!
