Ask the Christianâ,,¢ a question and see what happens.

Nice try? You brought your tits up. We didn't bring them up. We didn't say, "Hey! Welcome! What size are your tits?"

I know what you are...a tease. Yep, that's it. It's okay, though.

Nam, actually her boobs/nude pictures where mentioned in her introduction thread and I actually was the guilty party for that. Relax bro, OK?

Christy, I apologise if my joke made you feel uncomfortable.

Boobs are a more interesting topic than the ramblings of a Christard.

Yes. How do you decide what is good or what is evil? Does the lack of an after-life frighten you?
How do you cope with death since you do not believe in an after-life?
Does lack of punishment for doing evil hinders you from doing the right thing in life?
If there is evidence that God exists beyond doubt, will you worship Him?

I find the concept of an afterlife more frightening, by far.  I can be bored with a weekend of nothing to do.  A month?  A year?  10 years?  A thousand years?  A billion?  PUT ME OUT OF THIS MISERY!

I know...I'm supposed to enjoy that.  Ummm...no.

No punishment for doing evil?  Did you READ that book?  Our society punishes evil.  Your religion throws the best Hindu into a lake of fire, and utterly forgives any murdering child rapist who drops to his knees the instant before he dies.

Some Christians say there's more to it than that but basically that's all it is. Also, who says this person already isn't a Christian?

...oh...and there's no way I'd worship the vain child murdering genocidal fuckup that gifted mankind with such wonders as malaria and alzheimers.

EldonG

There.  I feel properly vented, for the moment.  :)

Ok...I have a question...as an ex-christian...why is it that christians are so ignorant...even of the books they champion?

That doesn't need to be answered, actually...I get it.  It's more for christian reflection that I ask.

No, she was joking. When you said 'you brought up your tits' joke ended.

You are a moron. The whole time I was joking; if the stupid smiley system worked where I didn't have to copy/paste from a phone perhaps it would have been more clearer to her and the one who interjected how this started elsewhere.

I was never serious. I never made it serious, the retarded did.

Yes. How do you decide what is good or what is evil?

Socialization, experience, empathy, sense of fairness, and reason.

No. If oblvion were frightening enough, I suppose there'd have been no need to invent the various hells to reinforce social controls. I don't think imagined afterlives are born so much of fear as the difficulty of imagining oneself not existing.

How do you cope with death since you do not believe in an after-life?

A complete narrative has a beginning, a middle, and an end. There's not much point to a story that never ends. It's that much more important that I make my life count while it lasts.

Our prisons are full of people who believe in afterlife punishment, while atheists are under represented. Fear of punishment in the next life appears to make little difference compared to being able to reason out the consequences of illegal actions in this life.

There is something wrong with the very idea of a supreme being that desires worship, as though it lacks something we can give it. How powerful does a proposed being have to be before it stops being kind of pathetic that it craves attention? The God described in the Bible has the personality of a magnified oriental potentate. For that reason, if I knew he existed, I would worship him, for the same reason I would cooperate with a mugger who is holding a gun to my head. One can only hope that if there is a God, it doesn't much resemble the typical Christian idea of God.
Atheists are not anti-Christian. They are anti-stupid.--WitchSabrina

Science doesn't give a damn about religions, because "damns" are not measurable units and therefore have no place in research. As soon as it's possible to detect damns, we'll quantize perdition and number all the levels of hell. Until then, science doesn't care.
